Troops committing grave human rights abuses in IOK

Srinagar, December 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that India has turned Jammu and Kashmir into a police state where people are undergoing severe hardships.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a public gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar deplored that the puppet administration was unleashing more and more repression on both the Kashmiri people and leadership to intimidate them into submission. He denounced the authorities for disallowing people from offering Juma prayers at the historic mosque on the past three consecutive Fridays.

Resistance leaders Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and the High Court Bar Association of the territory in their separate statements in Srinagar strongly condemned the social media gag on employees by the puppet authorities. »

Srinagar, December 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has condemned the continued house arrest of Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Javaid Ahmed Mir and party Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt.

Srinagar, December 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have condemned in strong terms the social media gag on employees by the puppet authorities terming it the worst form of state terrorism.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the gag was aimed at concealing harsh realities and atrocities perpetrated by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. He said that the puppet authorities were trampling fundamental rights and pushing the territory to the Stone Age. “The gag order is unjustified, illogical and unconstitutional. The authorities are hell bent to create graveyard-like silence by shielding the criminals,” he added. »

Srinagar, December 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) has welcomed an order issued by the High Court directing the constitution of Special Investigating Team (SIT) to probe into the disappearance of five labourers.

The APDP in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the victims belonging to Sang Liana in Surankote area of Poonch in Jammu region had disappeared from Srinagar on June 13, 2005. »

New Delhi, December 29 (KMS): Ten students of Jamia Millia Islamia said that they were barred from participating in a National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp at Rohini in New Delhi as they were sporting a beard.

The students said that the authorities told them to shave their beards overnight or leave the camp. They said that their refusal to do so met with an eviction order.

The students said that they asked the authorities to mention the reason for their eviction on the notice, but were simply given notices for indiscipline. The students stayed outside the NCC camp for a night and reached Jamia the next morning where student organisations protested the discrimination. The NCC cadets also met the Jamia VC. »

Srinagar, December 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly denounced the puppet authorities for caging the Mirwaiz and barring him from addressing a gathering in Srinagar.

The puppet authorities placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest and prevented him from addressing the faithful at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar on the occasion of annual Urs of the saint popularly known as Dastgeer Sahib on Thursday. »
