Police arrest four cricketers in Bandipora

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has demanded a probe by the UN-sponsored war crime tribunal into all gruesome massacres, perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the international community to break its silence over Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. He said that the Indian armed forces were committing crimes against humanity in Jammu and Kashmir and deplored that people were being killed in fake encounters. The APHC chairman reiterated that the Kashmiris would continue to offer sacrifices till the achievement of freedom from India. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian forces, today, launched a massive cordon and search operation in Pulwama district.

A police official in a media interview in Srinagar said that Indian army and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Police launched a search operation in Koil area of the district.

All the exit points were sealed and the forces were conducting door-to-door searches. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, today.

The soldier, identified as Subbha Roy of 8 Rashtriya Rifles, shot himself with his service rifle at Gawalion in Uri. »

New Delhi, January 07 (KMS): Former Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram took a dig at ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for failing to restore normalcy in occupied Kashmir.

P Chidambaram in a series of tweets on Sunday said that militaristic and muscular policy had failed to achieve anything in Kashmir. He said that there was an issue concerning Jammu and Kashmir and there were frequent reminders to indicate it. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) has strongly condemned the police raid on the house of party leader, Muhammad Hussain Fazili at Soura in Srinagar.

Muhammad Hussain Fazili was acquitted last year after completing 12 years in New Delhi’s Tihar jail. »

Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the International Forum for Justice (IFJ) staged a protest demonstration at Pratap Park in Srinagar against the January 1993 Sopore massacre.

The protest was led by Chairman of IFJ, Ahsan Untoo and members of civil society including Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Abdul Majeed Zargar and others. They were demanding justice for the family members of the over 60 civilians, who fell victim to Indian state terrorism on January 6, 1993 in the town. The troops also set ablaze shops, residential houses, vehicles and building of Women College Sopore on the fateful day. »
