Kashmiri detainees’ life at risk in jails

Srinagar, January 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more youth in Badgam district, today.

The youth were killed during a cordon and search operation in Chadoora area of the district. Police claimed that they were killed during an encounter with the troops. Indian authorities suspended mobile Internet service in the district after the killing.

The killing triggered clashes between protesters and Indian forces in Chadoora. The troops resorted to teargas shelling, while protesters pelted stones on them. The shopkeepers downed their shutters in protest against the killing. The Indian troops also launched an operation at Tahab in Pulwama district. »

Srinagar, January 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health condition of Kashmiri detainees in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that there was serious threat to the lives of detainees and demanded that all the Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various Indian jails be shifted to Kashmir.

“Zahoor Ahmad Watali is seriously ill and those other lodged in Tihar Jail, including Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Kamran Yousuf and Shahid Yosuf are meted out ill- treatment and in absence of proper medical care their health condition is worsening with every passing day,” he said. »

Islamabad, January 08 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) with the coordination of Kashmir Students Federation of Urdu, University held a seminar at the Urdu University, Islamabad, today.

Srinagar, January 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC) in its meeting held at its Rajbagh head office in Srinagar, today, condemned the arrest of the students from a playground in Bandipora.

Srinagar, January 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a PhD student who had gone missing few days back has reportedly joined armed struggle against illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir as his picture posing with an AK rifle has gone viral on social media.

The student Mannan Wani, 26, son of Bashir Ahmad Wani was scheduled to return home from Indian state, Uttar Pradesh, three days ago. “He was pursuing his PhD in Geology at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). However, he didn’t report back home,” media reports said. He completed his MPhil from AMU. »
