Shutdown in Islamabad, Kulgam districts

Srinagar, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of a martyred youth, Farhan Wani, in Kulgam district, today.

Farhan was killed by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Kokernag area of Islamabad district, yesterday.

Multiple rounds of the funeral of martyred Farhan Wani were held at his native village in Khudwani area of the district. The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, who continues to remain under house arrest for the past many years, addressed the mourners over phone from his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar. »

Srinagar, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has called for complete shutdown on Saturday against civilian killings by Indian forces.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, termed the civilian killings as genocide of Kashmiris. The JRL also condemned the fresh killing of innocent youth, Khalid Ahmad Dar in firing by troops in Kulgam district. »

Jammu, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in South Kashmir districts of Islamabad and Kulgam to mourn the killings of two youth Farheen Ahmad Wani and Khalid Ahmad Dar by Indian forces.

The troops killed Farheen Ahmad Wani during a cordon and search operation in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on Monday. »

Srinagar, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly condemned the killing of a 20-year-old youth, Khalid Ahmad Dar, in the firing of Indian troops in Kulgam district.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Khalid was shot in his chest by the troops at Khudwani in Kulgam district. He said, people who protest against Indian army’s search operations and the use of force are responded with lethal pellets and bullets. »

Mirwaiz, DFP call her resilience an example

Srinagar, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Insha Mushtaq, the girl completely blinded by pellets fired by Indian troops while she was inside her home in Shopian during the 2016 uprising, has passed her Class 10 board exams.

Before her eyesight was taken away by pellets, Insha had 85 percent marks in Class 8 exams. She was watching street protests from the window of her home in Sedow village of Shopian on July 12, 2016, when pellets fired by the troops hit her right on the face, blinding her in both eyes. The teenage girl wanted to become a doctor and even after she was blinded, she said she would try her best to fulfill her dream. »

Srinagar, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India is not sincere in finding a peaceful and lasting solution to the political dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.

An APHC spokesman while commenting on the assertions made by senior Congress leader and former Indian minister P Chidambaram, in a statement in Srinagar said, “The government of India is yet to accept that Kashmir is a disputed territory and not a law and order problem.” Chidambaram, while slamming India’s Kashmir policy, had said wisdom lies in actively working towards a political solution to the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. »

The civilian identified as Muhammad Hussain Ittoo died after being hit by a fast moving vehicle of Indian army in Vessu area of the district. »

Jammu, January 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Communist Party of India leader, M Y Tarigami while taunting the puppet regime for continuously detaining the resistance leaders under draconian law, Public Safety Act, has said that Muslim League chief, Masarrat Aalam Butt, has been awarded degree of PSAs.

Tarigami, who is also the member of so-called Kashmir Assembly, raising the concern of overuse of PSA in Kashmir, told the house that he had not seen Masarrat Aalam for long. “I have come to know that he has been awarded degree of PSAs,” he taunted. »

Muzaffarabad, January 10 (KMS): APHC-AJK leaders have briefed a French media team, who is on a visit to Azad Kashmir, on the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian forces against innocent people of occupied Kashmir.

The French team met APHC-AJK leaders including Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Ishtiaq Hameed, Shamim Shawl, Aijaz Rehmani and Imtiaz Ahmad in Muzaffarabad. The team was informed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were struggling to secure their right to self-determination, which was promised to them by the international community through a number of resolutions passed by the United Nations. »
