Gilani, Mirwaiz, Malik and other leaders detained in IOK

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to protest against the surge in killings and other human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

Call for the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops, business establishments, private offices and fuel stations remained closed while traffic was off the road.

The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations. Indian police arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik after raiding his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar, today, and shifted him to Kothi Bagh police station. The occupation authorities had placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, under house arrest, last evening, while the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, remains under continued house arrest for the past over eight years. »

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, prominent religious scholar and the Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami, Qazi Yasir, has paid glowing tributes to the two youth, Farhan Ahmed Wani and Khalid Ahmed Dar, who were recently martyred by Indian troops.

Qazi Yasir visited the residences of Farhan Wani and Khalid Ahmed in Khudwani area of Kulgam and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family members. »

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt, has paid glowing tributes to Shams-ul-Haq, Shaheed Syed Jamal-ud-Din, Shaheed Ali Mohammad and all other Kashmiri martyrs and said that the Kashmiris will continue the mission of their martyrs till complete success.

Zafar Akbar Butt, accompanied by a high-level delegation, felicitated Mir Sadiya, granddaughter of Shaheed Shams-ul-Haq for remarkable performance in class 12 exams. Mir Sadiya bagged 19th position in Kashmir division. »

Jammu, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, has admitted that over 9,000 people were injured due to the use of brute force by Indian troops and police personnel on protesters in the territory from July 8, 2016 to February 27, 2017.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a written reply to the so-called Kashmir Assembly, Mehbooba Mufti, who also holds the portfolio of Home Department, said that 9,042 persons were wounded in Kashmir due to bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells fired by the forces’ personnel and other causes. The figures, as per the reply, were based on medical records. »

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat has strongly condemned the house detention of its Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and described it as reflection of the frustration of the puppet authorities.

The puppet authorities placed Aasiya Andrabi under house detention on Friday evening.

The DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said that a large contingent of police surrounded the residence of Aasiya Andrabi and told her that she is under house arrest.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement also condemned the continued illegal detention of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town.

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) leaders and activists have urged the people to boycott the upcoming panchayat elections in the territory.

TeH leaders addressing public gatherings in different areas of the occupied territory said, those killing and subjecting innocents to atrocities don’t deserve vote and support as they are hand in glow with killer Indian forces. “We are duty-bound to safeguard the sacrifices and participation in elections is tantamount to treason with the blood of martyrs,” they said. »
