Several Hurriyat leaders put under detention

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from holding demonstrations against the surge in killings and other human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for peaceful demonstrations and complete shutdown, today, against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in the territory.

The authorities have imposed restrictions in Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Maharaj Ganj, Safakadal, Maisuma, Kralkhud and other areas of Srinagar. The authorities have also deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in the city to prevent people from staging the protests. »

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health condition of illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Those lodged in Tihar Jail including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Merajuddin Kalwal, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Kamran Yousuf, Shahid Yousuf and Zahoor Ahmed Watali are meted out ill-treatment and in absence of proper medical care their health condition is worsening with every passing day.” He warned the Indian authorities of serious consequences if anything untoward happened to the Kashmiri detainees. »
