Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo organized a protest at Partab Park in Srinagar to demand justice for the victims of Kupwara massacre of 27th January, 1994.

Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo on the occasion also displayed a paper he has compiled to show the actual facts and involvement of the Indian troops in the massacre. »

Shutdown in Kupwara to remember victims of massacre

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three civilians were killed and several others injured after Indian troops opened fire on peaceful protesters in Ganowpora area of Shopian district, today.

The troops resorted to indiscriminate firing on the demonstrators, who were protesting against the recent killing of three youth by the troops, injuring several of them. Three of the critically injured including Javaid Ahmed Butt and Suhail Ahmed Khan were shifted to hospitals where they were declared as brought dead. The Shopian district was already shut on the fourth consecutive day, today, to mourn the killing of the three youth. The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, has called for complete shutdown, tomorrow, against the killing spree by the troops in the occupied territory. »

Brussels, January 27 (KMS): Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU) organized a demonstration in Brussels against Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and observed Indian Republic Day as a Black Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of Kashmiris and civil rights activists across the European Union gathered in front of Indian Embassy in Brussels. »

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Kupwara town, today, to remember the victims of a deadly massacre carried out by Indian troops in 1994.

Call for the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops and other business establishments were closed in the town while traffic was off the road. »

Hundreds of demonstrators led by Lord Nazir Ahmed demanded freedom for Kashmir and Khalistan from India. »

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) Kokernag area of Islamabad district, causing huge inconvenience to the local people.

The troops cordoned off Watnard area of Kokernag, today, and started searches. The operation continued till reports last came in.

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, justice continues to elude the families of the victims of Kupwara massacre even after the passing of twenty four years.

Indian troops had massacred 27 civilians in Kupwara town on 27th January in 1994, a day after India’s Republic Day. Local people had told the media and investigation agencies that a day before the carnage took place, an army officer had asked the local shopkeepers not to observe shutdown and attend the Republic Day celebrations at the local camp. However, they shopkeepers didn’t turn up at the celebrations. But the next day, when they were opening their shops, Indian soldiers came in trucks and fired at them indiscriminately, killing 27 people and injuring scores others. »

Srinagar, January 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete strike was observed on the third consecutive day, today, in Shopian district against the killing of three youth by Indian troops.

All shops, business establishments and government and private offices were closed in the district while transport was off the road.

The troops had killed the youth, Sameer Ahmed Wani and Firdous Ahmed Lone during a violent cordon and search operation in Chaigund area of Shopian district on Wednesday. Another youth, Shakir Ahmed Mir, was killed when the troops opened fire on demonstrations in the area. »

Brussels, January 27 (KMS): The EU-Pak Friendship Federation, Europe, organised a mega protest motor rally at Brussels (Belgium) to draw attention of the world community towards the Indian atrocities on the people of occupied Kashmir and minority communities in India.

The rally started from popular Brussels monument Atomium and culminated at Prominent Expo Centre, Brussels.

About 130-150 people belonging to Pakistani diaspora, Indian minorities including Sikhs and Dalits, human rights activists and freelance journalists participated. Some 60-70 vehicles also joined the rally. »
