Srinagar, January 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Indian forces are involved in serious war crimes in Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly criticized forces for killing civilians including Javaid Ahmad Butt and Suhail Javed Lone and injuring of scores of people in indiscriminate firing in Ganpora, Shopian. He said it should serve an eye-opener for international community. »

Curfew-like restrictions imposed in Srinagar

Srinagar, January 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, normal life was paralyzed by complete shutdown, today, against the killing of two youth in firing by Indian troops on peaceful protesters in Shopian district.

Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad, Kulgam, Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts.

The authorities had imposed curfew-like restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the territory to prevent anti-India protests. Especial restrictions were imposed in Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Kralkhud, Maisuma, Maharaj Gunj and Safakadal areas of Srinagar. Additional paramilitary and police personnel were deployed on bridges and streets in all small and major towns of occupied Kashmir. The authorities suspended train service in South Kashmir, while mobile and internet services were snapped in the Valley. »

Srinagar, January 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the killing of two youth in Shopian by Indian troops during a peaceful protest demonstration.

The Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Killings of young boys have become a routine affair of trigger-happy forces in Kashmir.” He said it is shame that the Indian rights activists, humanists and civil society members have turned deaf, dumb and blind to the butchering of young Kashmiris and the world human rights watchdogs callously watch on doing nothing. »

The campaign was launched by non-resident Kashmiris (NRKs) in England with an aim to create awareness and highlight the Kashmir issue.

Srinagar, January 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two policemen were injured in a grenade attack at a police post in Warpora area of Sopore.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Sopore, Harmeet Singh told media in Srinagar that the two grenades were lobbed at Police station Warpora resulting in minor injuries to two policemen.

The injured cops were rushed to a nearby hospital. »
