Indian troops martyred 515 since July 2016

Srinagar, February 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and the Deputy Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Mufti Nasirul Islam have thanked the government and the people of Pakistan for their unflinching support to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, in his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, today, said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are challenging a big power and Pakistan is the only country that extends its continuous support to their cause. The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the Kashmiris have always appreciated the support of Pakistan, at all levels, despite difficult and testing times for the country itself. Mufti Nasirul Islam said that Pakistan had made tireless efforts in raising the Kashmir dispute at all international forums. »

Muzaffarabad, 05 February (KMS): Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said while addressing AJK Legislative Assembly that Kashmiris are not alone, 200 million Pakistanis stand by them. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Kashmir policy is in our hearts and no one can separate us from it.

The premier maintained that people of Kashmir have been deprived of freedom for seven decades, and Hurriyat leaders are being harassed continuously. »

Brussels, February 05 (KMS): Kashmir Council EU organized a demonstration in Brussels, the capital of Belgium to express solidarity with oppressed people of Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK). A large number of people from all walks of life as well as representatives of different NGOs and human rights organizations attended the gathering held at corner of Rue Billiard and Avenue Des Arts near Brussels’ Trone Metro station situated between American Embassy and Belgium’s Prime Minister house. Srinagar, February 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the prolonged detention of Doctor Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo who has today completed his 25 years in jail.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement termed the prolonged incarceration of Doctor Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Ghulam Qadir Butt and professor Muhammad Shafi Khan (Sharaiti) as grave violation of existing international laws. He said that Kashmiris are being put in jails for their political beliefs and under the pretext of various redundant grounds their incarceration is prolonged and they along with their families are put to grave hardships. »

Islamabad, February 05 (KMS): President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have said that the dream of peace and prosperity in the region will remain elusive without resolving the Kashmir dispute. In their messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day, they called upon the international community to urge India to respect the Human Rights Charter, put an immediate end to gross human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, February 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after the custodial killing of renowned commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani by Indian forces on July 8, 2016, Indian troops killed 515 people including women and teenage boys till date.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, tens of thousands of people came out on the streets to protest against the killing. The incident began a tumultuous phase in the recent history of Kashmir when forces used excessive force, bullets, pellets and teargas shells to quell the mourners and mass uprising. As many as 20,935 civilians including women and boys were injured, 73 were rendered completely blinded and over 1,1864 youth are at the verge of losing eye-sight by the pellets fired by Indian forces since July 8. »

Srinagar, February 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) Patron, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo completed 25 years in prison, today, on February 5. Languishing in prison for the past 25 years, Dr Qasim Fakhtoo revealed that during his two-and-half decade long imprisonment, he was approached at least eight times by influential pro-India people to strike a deal and secure his release. »

Islamabad, February 05 (KMS): Pakistanis are observing Day of Solidarity with Kashmiris, today, to draw the world attention towards urgency for resolution of the longstanding dispute as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. On a public holiday, today, the day dawned with special prayers at mosques for the freedom of Kashmiri people and their emancipation from Indian subjugation. One minute silence was observed at 10.00 a.m. to pay tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs. »
