JRL calls for shutdown on Feb 9, 11

Srinagar, February 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chief of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Sayyeda Aasiya Andrabi has said that the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir remains to be an unfinished agenda of the partition of South Asian sub-continent.

Addressing a seminar held in Srinagar, Aasiya Andrabi said that the Kashmir dispute had come into existence because of the two-nation theory and there should be no doubt that the people of Kashmir wanted to see Kashmir as a part of Pakistan.

The seminar was arranged to mark the 25 years of the incarceration of Aasiya Andrabi’s husband, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo. She termed the detention of Dr Fakhtoo as political vendetta and said that he was put behind the bars because of his political ideology. A protest was staged at Press Colony in Srinagar to demand the release of Dr Qasim Fakhtoo. »

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has paid glowing tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyrs, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, ahead of their martyrdom anniversaries.

The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the sacrifices rendered by Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afazl Guru were a glorious chapter of Kashmir’s resistance history. India not only sent these leaders to gallows but also kept their mortal remains under its custody till now, the statement added. »

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) staged a protest at Press Colony in Srinagar to press for the release of its President, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, who completed 25 years in prison on Monday (February 05).

The activists who carried placards and banners expressed concern over the prolonged detention of Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo. The protesters said, “The authorities are scared of releasing Dr Qasim because of his conviction towards the goal of freedom for which he has completed 25 years in jail.” They said that his incarceration was just a political vendetta. »

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have placed the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, under house arrest to prevent him from attending a party meeting in Srinagar.

The JKPL in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the detention of Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. The statement said that the Indian police stopped Waza from proceeding towards Srinagar and put him under house arrest in Islamabad town. »

Srinagar, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India’s repressive tactics cannot deter the Kashmiri people from continuing their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said, “State sponsored tactics won’t deter us from pursuing our mission, nor will these suppressive and aggressive measures make us surrender. We are peace-loving people and pursuing our peaceful struggle for the past 70 years.” He said, coercive measures, killings, detentions and suppression will yield nothing, instead will lead to devastation. »

Karachi, February 07 (KMS): APHC-AJK Chapter leader, Abdul Majeed Malik has said that India by resorting to through innocent killings and other brutal means of oppression will not succeed in suppressing the Kashmiris’ genuine struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Abdul Majeed Malik while addressing a seminar, which was held in Karachi in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day, thanked the government and people of Pakistan for observing the day with enthusiasm. »

London, February 07 (KMS): Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and Europe mobilized the Kashmiri diaspora and Pakistanis living in numerous European cities to express support to the people of occupied Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5, every year.

Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK President Fahim Kayani and Europe President Muhammad Ghalib led rallies with thousands of participants in Lisbon, where the procession led toward the Portuguese Parliament. The current UN Secretary General is the former prime minister of Portugal. »

Brussels, February 07 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed has paid rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyrs, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru, asking the Indian government to hand over their mortal remains to their families for a proper burial in occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels said, these two great martyrs are beacons in the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination. He said, India acted inhumanely by holding bodies of the martyrs. “No human being and no one belonging to civilised societies in the world can accept such ruthless behaviour as India is doing with the Kashmiris,” he added. »

Jammu, February 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet regime has said that over 27,500 kanals of land is under the illegal possession of the Indian Army in Chhamb area along the Line of Control (LoC).

In a written reply to the so-called Kashmir Assembly, the puppet regime said, “The land measuring 27,725 and 17 marlas is under the occupation of Army in Chhamb Constituency near LoC.”
