Srinagar, February 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly denounced the puppet administration for imposing curfew-like restrictions and curbs on the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Afzal Guru.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar also condemned the crackdown against Hurriyat leaders and arrest of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Muhammad Yusuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Muhammad Ashraf Laya, Muhammad Yasin Atai, Omar Aadil Dar, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Muhammad Yousuf Butt, Bashir Ahmed Chohan and Sajjad Ahmed Pala and scores of other activists.

Reiterating the demand for the return of mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru to their families, the spokesman said, although it is purely a human issue, but India is reluctant to this demand thereby violating all the principles of ethics and human values.

Warning the Indian authorities against their oppressive and suppressive measures, the spokesman said that all these arbitrary tactics would not deter the Kashmiris from pursuing their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi in her statement in Srinagar paid glorious tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.

She said both Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru sacrificed for the sacred cause and tolerated all ups and downs with courage. “Their sacrifices have been recorded in the history of resistance in golden words and would act as a guiding light for the generations to come,” she added.

Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yasin Atai and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their statements also eulogized the sacrifices and contributions of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru in the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement.
