Injured Saima succumbs in Srinagar hospital

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt who was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail on this day in 1984 and was buried in the jail premises.

Call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to press for the return of the mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru to their families. All shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road. Train service remained suspended in the Kashmir valley due to the strike. »

Srinagar, February 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyat leaders have paid tributes to prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt on his 34th death anniversary.

Muhammad Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail on this day in 1984 and was buried in the premises of the prison. »

Brussels, February 11 (KMS): Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) held programmes in connection with martyrdom anniversary of two great Kashmiri martyrs Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru in Brussels. Speakers of on the occasion paid rich tributes to both the sons of soil of Kashmir. They asked the international community to pressurize India to hand over mortal remains of both the martyrs to their relatives for a proper burial in Kashmir.
