Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, unknown gunmen shot and killed an activist of All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Badgam district, today.
Mohammad Yousuf Nadeem, a resident of Sandipora village in central Kashmir’s Badgam district was shot and killed at Cherangam area of  Beerwah. Nadeem was currently affiliated with a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has demanded complete and blanket ban on the use and sale of liquor.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the religious scholars and ulema to launch sustained campaign against the use of liquor and aware people about its ill-effects on health, society and family relations.

Expressing surprise and dismay over the speech of members in the so-called Kashmir Assembly in which they had said, “Banning the sale of liquor will hit the revenue generation of the territory”, the APHC Chairman termed it totally unjustified. “For, the other four states of India who have completely banned the sale of liquor do not complain of any loss of revenue and even nobody is dying from hunger or poverty,” Gilani said. »

2 indian soldiers killed in Srinagar attack

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and other Hurriyat leaders have paid growing tributes to the martyred teenage girl, Saima Wani who succumbed to her injuries, yesterday.

Saima who was injured during a cordon and search operation by Indian troops at Chaigund in Shopian district on 24th January succumbed at a hospital in Srinagar, yesterday. She had recently passed the class 12 with 74 per cent marks. Her brother was martyred during the operation. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the international human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Asia Watch to take notice of unabated killings of innocent Kashmiri people by Indian forces in the occupied territory. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that he was deeply grieved by the killing of the teenage girl. »

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Chairperson, Farida Behanj has denounced the arrest of party activists Bashir Ahmad, Abdur Rasheed, Zahid Ahmad and Imtiaz Ahmad by Indian police.

Farida Behanji in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the detainees were shifted to unknown place after the arrest. The JKMM chief urged international human rights organizations to play their role in the release of the detainees. »

New Delhi, February 12 (INP): The Standing Counsel of Jammu and Kashmir in the Indian Supreme Court, Shoeb Alam on Monday said the apex court hasn’t stayed the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by police against army Major Aditya Kumar of 10 Garhwal Rifles in connection with the killings of three civilians in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shoeb Alam, however, said that the court has put a stay on the arrests. “The investigation into the case will go on,” he said. »

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was killed in the ongoing attack in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar today, said a CRPF official.

CRPF Spokesman, Rajesh Yadav, told media in Srinagar that one constable had succumbed to his injuries at the site of attack. »

India had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th February in 1984. »

Srinagar, February 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, despite restrictions and curbs imposed by the puppet authorities, several people reached Mohla Maqbool Abad in Trehgam, Kupwara, on the occasion of martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri martyred leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt on Sunday.

The people expressed their support to Maqbool Butt’s aged mother and his brother Zahoor Ahmad Butt at their residence. Mohammad Maqbool Butt was hanged and buried inside Delhi’s Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984. »

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep sympathy with the family of Saima saying that Indian forces were involved in continuous bloodshed in the territory. He said Indian forces are directly targeting civilians and unbridled state power is being enforced against innocents. He said the puppet administration has unleashing violent measures against unarmed civilians and even kids and innocent civilians are safe from trigger-happy Indian troops. »
