Two killed as gunfight continues on second day in Srinagar

Jammu, February 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, with the recovery of another Indian soldier’s body during searches inside the Sunjuwan army camp in Jammu, the death toll in the attack has risen to ten, the army said.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the body of the sixth soldier was recovered on Monday night during the searches, the Indian army said on Tuesday.

With this, the death toll in the attack on the army camp that started on Saturday has risen to ten, including six soldiers and three attackers.

A group of heavily armed attackers entered the Sunjuwan army camp on February 10 after hurling grenades and using automatic rifles.

Meanwhile, another Indian army camp came under attack in Domana area of Jammu, today. Reports said that motorcycle-borne attackers approached the entry point of the army camp in Domana early morning and opened fire on the camp. After the incident, Indian troops and police personnel launched a massive search operation in the area.

On the other hand, gunfight between attackers and Indian forces that began yesterday morning continued in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar on Tuesday. Police said that two attackers had been killed in firing by Indian troops. According to police, the attackers took cover inside an under construction building in Karan Nagar area on Monday to launch the attack on a nearby CRPF camp.

The puppet authorities have imposed strict restrictions in various areas of Srinagar to prevent youth from staging protests. The authorities have also snapped high-speed mobile Internet service in the city. A telecom official told media that the high speed mobile Internet service was suspended on the directive from the high-ups.

Two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force personnel have been killed and as many injured in the firefight so far.
