Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a complete shutdown on Saturday (February 17) against the shifting of Kashmiri inmates from Srinagar central jail and the brutal killing of a Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Yousuf Nadeem.

The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statememnt issued in Srinagar said that shifting of political inmates including Abdul Hameed Teeli, Tariq Ahmed, Raees Ahmed, Showkat Ahmed Hakeem, Muhammad Adil Zargar, Moomin Ahmed, Muhammad Ishaaq Paul and others from Srinagar central jail to various jails in Jammu was basically the so-called rulers’ revenge of their frustration and failures in breaking the resolve of the Kashmiri detainees. »

Atrocities on Srinagar jail inmates flayed

Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a protest rally was held in Srinagar, today, against the killing of innocent civilians, illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists and frequent cordon and search operations carried out by Indian forces.

The participants of the rally, which was organized by the Joint Resistance Leadership, had carried placards and banners reading anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. People from different walks of life including resistance leaders Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Muhammad Yasir, Bashir Kashmiri, Showkat Bakhshi and Omar Aadil Dar participated in the protest march. Speakers on the occasion condemned the Indian authorities for subjecting Kashmiri people to political vendetta for seeking their internationally-accepted right to self-determination. They demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails. »

Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and activists held a prayers session at the grave of freedom leader, Ghulam Muhammad Bulla on the occasion of his 43rd martyrdom anniversary, today.

Ghulam Muhammad Bulla was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on this day in 1975 in Sopore for leading a protest rally against Indra-Abdullah Accord. »

Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM), Aasiya Andrabi has expressed concern over prisoners’ plight in Srinagar central jail.

Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the authorities of Srinagar central jail had unleashed a reign of terror in the jail after a mujahid, Naveed alias Hanzullah managed to escape from SMHS Hospital where he was taken for a medical check-up. »

Advocate Devinder Singh Behal was accompanied with JKSPF leaders and activists. While addressing people on the occasion, Devinder Singh Behal strongly condemned the rape and murder of eight-year old girl, Asifa of Rasana Mohara in Heeranagar area of Kathua. »

Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, fear and insecurity has gripped Muslim community living in Kathua district after the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Aasifa by communal elements, last month.

Ali and other members of his Bakerwal community are living in constant fear after the girl from their community was raped and murdered. “We were always humiliated and abused here but now we feel that this place is not safe for us,” he said.

The 36-year-old Ali Jan said his father settled in this village four decades ago. A special police officer, Deepak Khajuria, arrested on charges of murdering her has told interrogators that the motive behind the crime was to instill fear among the Muslim community. »

Srinagar, February 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, it took five years but the Home Department has finally submitted its reply to the Human Right Commission in a petition related to the Khanyar massacre of 1991.

The reply says the Home Department has denied sanction to the case, on one pretext or another, the latest of which is that the police do not possess an English translation of the FIR and of statements of witnesses. »
