New Delhi, February 16 (KMS): A Delhi court has reserved its order on the bail plea of freelance photojournalist, Kamran Yousuf, after his lawyer argued that there was no evidence against him and his arrest was made to gag media in occupied Kashmir.

The Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against several Kashmiris, one of whom is Kamran Yousuf, in the fake case.

Additional Sessions Judge, Tarun Sherawat reserved the order for February 19 after hearing arguments from the counsel of Kamran Yousuf and that of the NIA.

The advocate appearing for Kamran Yousuf told the court that there was no evidence in the chargesheet against his client.

Kamran Yousuf, a resident of Pulwama, was arrested by the NIA in September last year along with a youth, Javaid Ahmed Butt of Kulgam.

Meanwhile, the NIA took custody of five Pulwama residents arrested by the Indian police on charges of abetting the escape of prisoner from SMHS hospital in Srinagar.

A spokesman of the NIA said that the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Srinagar granted a two-day transit remand of the five persons arrested on February 8, two days after the prisoner.

The five persons – Shakeel Ahmed Butt, Tika Khan, Syed Tajamul Islam, Muhammed Shafi Wani and Jan Muhammed Ganai – are all residents of Pulwama district.
