Islamabad, February 16 (KMS): Amnesty International (AI), in its letter, has urged the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, to raise the matter of pellet firing shotguns as a means of policing protests in occupied Kashmir in the meeting with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, next week.

The letter has been written ahead of Justin Trudeau’s visit to India where the Canadian premier would call on Modi. The duo is expected to meet during February 19 to 23. »

Islamabad, February 16 (KMS): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has strongly condemned the arrest of party’s Chief Organiser, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, and Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement leader, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, and other members of APHC delegation en route to Trehgam on the occasion of martyrdom anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt on February 11.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian rulers and their agents were stoking communal discard and sowing seeds of religious fanaticism not only in India but also in occupied Kashmir to obstruct road to a peaceful and just resolution of the Kashmir dispute. »

Internet service suspended in Baramulla

Srinagar, February 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two Kashmiri youth in Poonch district.

The troops killed the youth during a violent military operation in Balakote area of the district. The operation was going on till reports last came in.

Meanwhile, forceful demonstrations erupted in Palhallan area of Baramulla district, today, after Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation. India police and troops used brute force to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. The clashes are continuing in the area. The puppet authorities have suspended mobile Internet service in the district while all entry and exit routes to Palhallan have been sealed by the Indian forces. »
