Srinagar, February 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in Tral area of Pulwama district.

The troops, today, cordoned off several villages of Tral including Aripal, Handoora, Wagad, Darganaie Gund, Satura, Gadpora and Youngwani, causing huge inconvenience to the people. Door-to-door searches were going on when last reports came in.

Meanwhile, the troops arrested five persons during a search operation in Kareemabad area of the district. Witnesses said that during the operation, the troops also vandalized the property, thrashed people including the family members of martyred mujahid of Hizbul Mujahideen, Naseer Pandit.

On the other hand, protests erupted in Hajin area of Bandipora district also after the troops launched a search operation. The forces’ personnel subjected the protesters to brute force, triggering clashes in the area.

Clashes between the protesters and Indian forces were also reported from Narbal area of Budgam district.
