Youth filming army movement detained in Qazigund » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, February 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged forceful demonstrations in Vessu area of Qazigund against the arrest of two youth by the Indian Army.

The boys were detained as they were filming army movement in the area. One of the arrested youth, Aashiq Malik of Sadoora, was half-blinded by pellets fired by the Indian forces on protesters in 2016.

People took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the arrest of the youth. The protesters blocked the highway to demand release of the youth. Indian police and troops used brute force to disperse the protesters triggering clashes between the protesters and the forces’ personnel.

Locals told mediamen that the forces’ personnel also resorted to vandalism in the area and smashed windowpanes and doors of several houses.
