‘Indian troops occupied our land; now their dogs kill our sheep’

Srinagar, February 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, for the past several days, Indian troops have been snatching I-cards of youth in Kulgam district and then summoning them to their camp where they are beaten up and compelled for forced labour.

The residents of Ashmuji area of the district talking to media men said the Indian soldiers dial their numbers and summon them to their camp. They said that not only the students but middle aged men are also being subjected to harassment and forced labour in the Indian army camp. »

Thousands attend martyrs’ funerals in Tral, Hajin

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik organized a peaceful demonstration in Srinagar, today, to condemn India’s revengeful policies against the Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different jails.

The demonstration held outside the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar was led by Muhammad Yasin Malik and was participated by a large number of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Tariq Ahmad Dar and Bashir Kashmiri. The participants carried placards and banners urging India and its puppet authorities to stop victimizing the Kashmiri prisoners. Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing the demonstrators over telephone said that the oppressive tactics unleashed by New Delhi could not prevent the Kashmiris from carrying forward their freedom struggle. »

Says Indian troops given license to kill Kashmiris

Islamabad, February 27 (KMS): The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir is not only oldest dispute pending with the United Nations (UN) but is also an unfinished agenda of the Partition Plan.

Syed Ali Gilani said this while addressing an international seminar on ‘The Kashmir Dispute: Past, Present and Future” at the National University of Modern Languages in Islamabad through video link from Srinagar, today. He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have been offering unprecedented sacrifices since 1947 to secure freedom from illegal Indian occupation. »

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops arrested a youth during a siege and search operation in Chhatabal area of Srinagar.

The troops entered Chaan-Mohalla and Mughal-Mohalla of Chhatabal, conducted house-to-house searches. People were pulled out of their houses and subjected to ill-treatment during the hour-long operation. The troops also arrested a youth during the crackdown operation. »

Guwahati, February 27 (KMS): Congress leader and former puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has said that the Indian Army should remain apolitical and should not look into the growth of any political party in India.

The statement of Azad, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Indian Rajya Sabha, came in response of the recent comments of Indian Army chief, Gen Bipin Rawat, who during a recent seminar in Delhi had linked the cross border influx from Bangladesh to Assam with the growth of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in the state. »

Mumbai, February 27 (KMS): Former Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram has asked the Indian government to reduce paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir to bring violence under control.

P Chidambaram speaking at a programme organised in Kolkata stated that dialogue should be started with the Kashmiri people and the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) should be amended. »

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of a martyred youth, Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan, in Tral, today.

Mushtaq Chopan was martyred by the Indian police during custody inside Tral police station in Pulwama district, yesterday. At least four rounds of funeral prayers were held to accommodate the huge rush of mourners who had turned up from Aripal, Tral and adjoining villages to participate in the funeral of Mushtaq at his native Wagad village. He was laid to rest amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Freedom songs were played through the public address systems during the funeral. »

Srinagar, February 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred another youth in Bandipore district.

The youth was injured in the firing of the troops during a siege and search operation in Hajin area of the district yesterday and later succumbed to his injuries.

A senior Army officer in a statement in Jammu said that the decision had been taken in the backdrop of rising attacks on army camps both in Jammu and Kashmir regions. »

Waza arrested, prevented from attending the meeting

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a joint meeting of the Hurriyat forum Executive Council, General Council and Working Committee was held in Srinagar with Hurriyat Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

The meeting was attended by all the members and representatives of the constituent parties. »
