Srinagar, February 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, clashes erupted in Murran area of Pulwama district early Sunday morning against the launch of a cordon-and-search-operation by Indian troops.

A joint party of army and police cordoned off Bonpora area of Murran and started house to house searches. However, youth took to streets and staged protests. Forces fired bullets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters. Many youths sustained injuries while four were detained by the police. »

ISLAMABAD, February 04 (KMS): Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Kashmir is not just a territorial dispute but a question of people’s inherent right to self-determination.

He said this in his message at the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day to be commemorated across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on February 5 to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren.

He said brutal force and propaganda cannot gag the voice of freedom, nor it can alter Pakistan’s resolute and principled stance on Kashmir. »

Jammu, February 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, various social organizations and groups belonging to different areas of Jammu protested against the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Aasifa in Kathua district.

The protestors staged demonstrations near Press Club Jammu. Speaking on the occasion advocate Ashok Kumar Basotra said, “We all should come forward to emphasize a fair and transparent trial in the case.” »

Srinagar, February 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, High Court Bar Association (HCBA) staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the increase in civilian killings in the territory.

The HCBA in a statement issued in Srinagar said the members of legal fraternity were deeply concerned about the fresh escalation in state terrorism across J&K and the continued war-like situation on ceasefire line. “The forces have leashed a reign of terror across the territory, especially in south Kashmir,” said HCBA General Secretary, advocate GN Shaheen. »

Srinagar, February 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two Kashmiri students who were assaulted in Haryana by a group of over 15 Hindu hooligans have refuted the Haryana police version that they were beaten after a scuffle between the two sides.

The victim students — Aftab Ahmad and Amjad Ali, of Rajouri district— told Srinagar-based newspaper over phone that “no scuffle took place and they were beaten up by the goons without any reason.” »

Srinagar, February 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that forcing the Kashmiris into submission by using dictatorial and oppressive means is only day-dream of Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the resistance leaders in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the use of force by the puppet authorities to prevent a peaceful march towards Shopian town, yesterday. They said that the spree of arrests, stringent restrictions, curfew and barricades, intimidations and threats were the glaring examples of the farcical Indian democracy practiced in occupied Kashmir. The resistance leaders said that the Indian rulers and their puppets must remember that brutal measures and military might could not defeat the Kashmiris’ aspiration for freedom and self-determination and they would continue their struggle till complete success. »

14,000 people arrested, 1,100 booked under PSA in 3 years

Srinagar, February 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have admitted that 18 civilians were killed due to the firing of pellets by the Indian troops and police pellet during the past two years.

The Home department in a written reply in the so-called Kashmir Assembly said that as per reports, 18 civilians lost their lives due to pellets during the last two years in the territory. It also said that 6,221 persons were injured in pellet firing between July 2016 to February 2017. »

Srinagar, February 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two troops of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an attack in Tral area of Pulwama district, today.

Unknown persons hurled a grenade on a CRPF party in Batagund area of Tral, injuring two soldiers. Two civilians also sustained injuries in the grenade blast. »
