Clashes erupt in Tral against killing

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police killed a youth during custody in Tral area of Pulwama district, today.

The detainee, Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan, was killed in a stage-managed grenade blast inside Tral police station. The police blasted the grenade in a bid to portray it as an attack on police station. However, locals refuted the police claim and insisted that Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan was killed in custody and the grenade blast was just a drama. The victim was arrested along with two other youth on 9th January in Sopore and was lodged in Tral police station. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani has expressed serious concern over the escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India on the Line of Control.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the ongoing assault along the LoC as a deliberate attempt on the part of India to divert attention from the Kashmir dispute and mislead its own population about it. He sought the UN intervention in addressing the Kashmir dispute, saying it is the main reason for prevailing tensions along border. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has urged the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to play role in ending the border skirmishes between Pakistan and India.

The DFP Secretary General, Maulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari in a statement in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the plight of the people living near the Line of Control (LoC) or International Border (IB) due to the escalation of tension between India and Pakistan. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a Kashmiri youth was killed mysteriously during police custody in Tral on Monday.

The detainee, Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan, was killed in a mysterious blast in Tral, police said.

Police added that Mushtaq, who was a former activist of Hizbul Mujahideen, was arrested by Indian police on January 9 in Sopore and was lodged in Tral police station. The region’s police chief SP Pani claimed that an unknown person threw a grenade at the police station in which a Mushtaq was killed. »

Srinagar, February 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, India-appointed Interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma has urged his government to hold talks with Pakistan to end hostility along the Line of Control.

Sharma in a media interview in Srinagar said, “The current hostility at the border is a serious problem. I am not going to speak to Pakistan. It is the government of the day which has to do the talking.”

Dineshwar Sharma said he has been visiting Kashmir to hold ‘peace talks’ with the stakeholders. “I am talking to Kashmiris. The government (of India) has to talk to Pakistan,” he demanded. »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian policeman was killed when he was attacked at Soura in Srinagar district, today in the evening.

SSP Srinagar told media in Srinagar that unknown gunmen fired at policeman in Bilal Colony, Soura. He was shifted in critical condition to Soura hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
