Policeman killed in Badgam attack

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has lashed out at India and its puppet authorities for resorting to customary tactics of placing curbs on the resistance leadership and gagging its genuine voice for freedom.

APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar cautioned that the authorities were playing with fire and said that their despotic attitude was the root cause of growing uncertainty in occupied Kashmir. The spokesman strongly condemned police raids on the residences of Hurriyat leaders and activists and said that the authorities were hell bent upon denying political space to those pursuing their inalienable right to self-determination, peacefully. The APHC slammed India and its stooges for trampling all fundamental rights of Kashmiri people. The spokesman made it clear that despite all repressive and coercive measures, the transgressors of people’s rights would have to bow down their heads before the people’s verdict, one day. »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a policeman was killed in an attack on a police post outside Charar-e-Shareef shrine in central Kashmir’s Badgam district, today.

The SSP of Budgam Tejinder Singh told media in Srinagar that the attackers fired upon sentry post outside the shrine. »

Uttarakhand (India): February 25 (KMS): A local traders’ body in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, has asked Kashmiris, who sell garments from rented shops, to leave the state.

The report said that so far the association has not given the Kashmiris any written notice.

The news report has quoted Association President Rajat Aggarwal as saying, “The local traders in Mussoorie want the Kashmiri traders to leave.” »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of veteran Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) leader Abdul Salam Kumar in Kulgam district, today.

Abdul Salam, 76, passed away on Sunday morning after brief illness. He was a resident of Redwani area of the district.

The protesters also demanded exemplary punishment for criminals involved in the rape and murder of eight-year-old Asifa of Hira Nagar, Kathua. Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, MBBS students from Jhelum Valley College took out a march at Bemina in Srinagar demanding justice for minor girl who was raped and murdered in Kathua district of Jammu region.

Hundreds of students marched through lanes and by-lanes of JVC College demanding capital punishment for the culprits involved in the heinous crime. They were carrying placards and banners seeking justice for the victim girl. »

Srinagar, February 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission (HRC) has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara to consider granting of relief under SRO-43 to the family of a slain civilian, (Sumo driver) Asif Iqbal, within two months.

The Commission directed the authorities to file the action-taken report within the same two-month period. »
