Gilani demands un probe into IOK massacres

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, held forceful demonstrations in Srinagar, today, against the shifting of detainees from Srinagar Central Jail to various jails in Jammu region and other Indian atrocities in the territory.

A large number of Hurriyat leaders and activists participated in the demonstrations held in Hyderpora, Lal Chowk, Nowhatta and other areas of Srinagar. The protests were also aimed at registering protest against a recent rally conducted by the Hindu extremists in support of an SPO involved in the rape and murder of a minor girl at Heera Nagar in Kathua area of Jammu and subjecting of youth in Kulgam to bonded labour by the Indian Army. The protesters led by Hurriyat leaders including Bilal Siddiqui, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yasin Atai, Syed Imtiyaz Haider, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Showket Ahmed Khan and Masooda Ji chanted high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. »

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that permanent settlement of Kashmir dispute is imperative for peace in South Asia.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a public gathering in Islamabad town said that Indian would achieve nothing by its policy of suppression and oppression. He said Kashmir is a political dispute and should be settled politically through meaningful and result-oriented dialogue among India, Pakistan and the true leadership of Kashmiris. »

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM), Farida Bahenji, has termed the shifting of political detainees from the Kashmir Valley to the jails in Jammu as the worst example of state terrorism.

Farida Bahenji in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the puppet authorities were frustrated and had lost all moral and ethical values. »

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of a disappeared youth, Muhammad Yousuf Sofi, is visiting very camp of Indian troops and police station in the territory for the past over a decade seeking his whereabouts.

Muhammad Yousuf Sofi was 29-years old when he was arrested by Indian troops on 7 March 2004 from his house in Mazhama in Budgam and disappeared in custody. »

New Delhi, March 02 (KMS): Former General Secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Prakash Karat, has said that the Indian government should shed its confrontationist stance and initiate talks for resumption of a comprehensive dialogue with Pakistan.

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, paying tributes to the victims of Zakura and Tengpora massacres, demanded impartial probe under the United Nations into all incidents of mass killings in the territory during the past 28 years.

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, noted religious scholar and the Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami (UeI), Qazi Ahmed Yasir has condemned the harassment of people in Shopian district by the Indian forces’ personnel.

Srinagar, March 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has termed the ongoing assault on Kashmiri inmates and shifting them to Jammu jails as illegal, unethical and act of vendetta.

A JRL delegation led by Muhammad Yasin Malik visited the office of the Human Rights Commission of the territory in Srinagar and met with its Chairman, Justice (Retd) Bilal Nazki, and other members and apprised them of the plight of the Kashmiri detainees. »
