Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 60-year-old man was crushed to death after an Indian police vehicle ran over him in Baramulla district Wednesday evening.

A man identified as Abdul Aziz Ahanger was killed by a speedy police vehicle at Delina area of the district. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Indian police detain Gilani, Mirwaiz, Malik

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed across the Kashmir Valley, today, against the Shopian killings and shifting of political prisoners from Srinagar to jails in Jammu.

Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and universities were closed, while public and private transport remained off the roads in all small and major cities and towns. All examinations scheduled for today were postponed. Train and internet services remained suspended in South Kashmir for the third consecutive day, today. »

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Chairman of All parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, when they defied house detentions in Srinagar and tried to lead a march towards Shopian.

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar, today, to prevent a march towards Shopian to express solidarity with the families of six people killed in the firing of Indian troops in the town on Sunday.

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while referring to the Shopian killings has said that the situation in Kashmir is extremely grim and fast deteriorating as more than thirteen civilians have been brutally killed by the Indian forces in just past few weeks.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said, “These forces enjoy complete immunity from any accountability or legal prosecution under the cover of the draconian law Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Most of the killings took place in Shopian district where around eight civilians including a 17-year-old-girl Saima Wani were killed.” »

Srinagar, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference staged a protest at Hyderpora in Srinagar against the killing of civilians in Indian army’s firing on a private car in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The protesters rued the silence of the United Nations and international community over the civilian killings in the occupied territory. Carrying banners and placards reading ‘Stop Civilian Killings’, ‘Stop Genocide’ and ‘Civilian Killings Unacceptable’, the protesters raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. »

Geneva, March 07 (KMS): Kashmiri representatives briefed Michel Frost, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders and European Parliament members during the 37th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

A Kashmiri delegation comprised Sardar Amjad Yousuf, Hassan-al-Banna, Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah, Shameem Shawl and Professor Shagufta Ashraf informed Michel Frost about the situation of human rights defenders in occupied Kashmir where the rights activists especially journalists and lawyers were harassed, intimidated and detained by Indian occupation forces. »

The soldier identified as Birender Sinha (24) shot himself dead with his service rifle at the camp of 30 Rashtriya Rifles at Langate in Handwara area of the district. »

Jammu, March 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu Province Peoples’ Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of various organizations, has called upon the puppet regime to accord stern punishment to the culprits behind the rape and murder of Kathua victim girl, Aasifa Bano.
