Forces launch cordon in different areas
Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has expressed deep concern over the plight of Kashmiri political detainees languishing in different jails in and outside the Kashmir Valley.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the detainees, lodged in outside jails, were harassed, intimidated and humiliated for their affiliation with the freedom movement. The APHC Chairman said, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar and other Hurriyat leaders, lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail, are not even allowed to seek legal assistance and consult their lawyers. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today, visited the residence of a martyred youth, Eisa Fazili in Srinagar and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

A Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that the Mirwaiz paid glowing tributes to the martyr and expressed solidarity with his family members. Eisa Fazili was a resident of Soura area of Srinagar. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has felicitated the Pakistanis on the eve of their National Day and said that the Pakistan Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940 in Lahore was a source of inspiration and guideline for the Muslims of Indian subcontinent.

The DFP in a statement issued in Srinagar while congratulation the government of Pakistan, its people, civil society, political, social, religious and military leadership expressed the hope that the country will move forward keeping in view its responsibility of uniting the Muslim Ummah. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Hajin town of Bandipora district, today.

An official said that the personnel of Indian army, police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force launched the search operation in Khochak Mohalla of the town. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, staged a protest demonstration at Press Colony in Srinagar to come India’s intransigence to resolve the Kashmir dispute, peacefully.

The protesters demanded negotiated settlement of the Kashmir dispute. Addressing the participants of the protest, KTK Chairperson Zamrooda Habib said that peace situation in South Asia had deteriorated due to intransigence of Indian leadership on Kashmir dispute. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, under the mass contact programme addressed people at Padshahi Bagh, Lasjan and Nowgam areas of Srinagar, today.

During his visit, Zafar Akbar Butt paid glowing tributes to Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Abdul Majeed Dar, on his martyrdom anniversary and other Kashmiri martyrs. He said that Abdul Majeed Dar was among the frontline commanders who laid the foundation of the ongoing freedom struggle. »

The victim girl’s father informed police that his mentally disturbed daughter was raped in Badgal village of Akhnoor, police confirmed. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior journalist and writer, Maqbool Sahil, passed away in Srinagar, this morning. He was fifty.

Maqbool Sahil prolific Urdu and Pahari writer and broadcaster fell while walking in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar city. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Doctors said he died due to cardiac arrest. His death shocked his colleagues and community of writers and intellectuals across the occupied territory. »

Jammu, March 21 (KMS): The Indian Supreme Court is likely to hear the petitions challenging Article 35-A on April 9, one of the petitioners has said.

Labha Ram Gandhi, one of the petitioners, on his return from New Delhi after holding deliberations with his advocates told media in Jammu that the matter has been listed for hearing in the Apex Court for April 9 in the tentative list. »

Srinagar, March 21 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier committed suicide in Samba district, taking the number of such deaths among Indian army to five in the territory during the current month.

The soldier identified as Naresh Kumar of 168 Brigade in Army Dog Squad shot himself with his service pistol inside his residential quarter in Maheshwar area of the district. »
