Srinagar, March 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the two youth martyred by Indian troops during a crackdown operation in Dooru area of Islamabad district.

The Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a meeting held in Srinagar denounced arrests, use of brute force, destruction of property and harassment of people during crackdowns operations by the troops across the Kashmir Valley. The participants said that such tactics could not subdue the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom and they would continue their struggle till complete success. »

Srinagar, March 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed serious concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists was being prolonged on one pretext or the other which was violation of human rights. »

Demos, shutdown in Islamabad district

Srinagar, March 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two youth during a cordon and search operation at Shashtargam in Dooru area of Islamabad district.

The killings triggered massive protests in Islamabad town, Dooru, Dialgam and other areas. The protesters raised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Indian policemen and troops who were deployed in strength resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering severe clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. Many people sustained injuries during the clashes. Hundreds of people participated in the funeral prayers in absentia held for the martyred youth in Khargund area of Dooru. »

New Delhi, March 24 (KMS): India’s Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) headed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has cleared a long-pending Indian Air Force (IAF) plan to set up a forward fighter base close to Deesa in Banaskantha district, near India’s western border in northwest Gujarat.

Media reports said that the CCS had cleared the initial investment of around Rs 1,000 crore to extend the runway, build fighter-pens and administrative facilities. »

Srinagar, March 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have shifted the illegally detained ailing senior APHC leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, from Kathua Jail to Joint Interrogation Centre in Jammu.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori was arrested from the graveyard of Sopore town on February 15, last year, when he had gone there to pay tributes to noted freedom leader, Ghulam Mohammad Bulla, whose death in custody is said to be the first custodial killing in Kashmir. »

New Delhi, March 24 (KMS): The Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Sohail Mahmood, has said that Islamabad seeks relations with New Delhi on the basis of the equality and mutual respect.

Sohail Mahmood talking to reporters after hoisting his Pakistani flag to mark the National Day at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi said all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan including Kashmir dispute can be resolved through dialogue. »
