Shutdown in Baramulla areas against youth’s killing

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the atrocities being committed by Indian troops on the Kashmiri people throughout the territory.

The resistance leaders during an extraordinary meeting held at the Hyderpora residence of Syed Ali Gilani deplored that the innocent people are arrested on frivolous charges and detained in different jails while the youth are being pushed to the wall. They expressed serious concern over the ill-treatment meted out to the political prisoners lodged in jails in and outside the Kashmir Valley. The leaders pointed out that the silence adopted by the world community over the grim situation of occupied Kashmir had given a sense of impunity to India and its stooges to commit more human rights violations. They said that military might policy was not a solution to the Kashmir dispute and concrete steps needed for its settlement to secure the future of billions of people of South Asia. »

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid tributes to the three youth martyred by Indian troops during a crackdown operation in Budgam and Islamabad districts.

Los Angeles, March 26 (KMS): The Kashmiri community of Los Angeles organized a car rally to highlight the human rights violations and atrocities by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The rally started at Dockweiler State Beach in Los Angeles and passed through several cities, ending at Santa Monica Pier. The rally covered about 30 kilometers.

Srinagar, March 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a civil society group, Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS), has expressed serious concern over the border tension between Pakistan and India.

Geneva, March 26 (KMS): Kashmiri representative, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, held a special interactive session with representatives of NGOs and human rights activists from across the globe in Geneva currently there to attend the 37th session of UN Human Rights Council.

Syed Faiz Naqshbandi informed them about the plight of the Kashmiri political detainees, saying that they were being shifted from Srinagar to the jails outside the Kashmir Valley in violation of norms and rules to the prisons. »

Birmingham, March 26 (KMS): South Asia Centre for Peace and Human Rights (SACFPHR), UK, organised a conference titled “Peace in South Asia and the Role of Commonwealth” in the Lord Mayors Council Hall in Birmingham.

The conference spread over four sessions discussed at length the political and human rights situation in occupied Kashmir. It was attended by Parliamentarians, Councillors, community leaders and human rights activists. »
