Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the death toll of martyred youth by Indian forces’ actions in south Kashmir’s Shopian and Islamabad districts on Sunday has mounted to 17 after another youth succumbed at Soura hospital in Srinagar.

The martyred youth was identified as Iqbal Butt, of Khasipora Shopian. Reports said that Iqbal had received bullet injury in his abdomen.

Earlier, 16 youths were killed in different firing and siege and search operations launched by Indian troops in two districts Shopian and Islamabad of south Kashmir. Three army men were also killed in the attacks in same districts.

With Iqbal’s killing, the death toll of people mounted to 17, including 13 youth in siege and search operations and four in firing on protesters and funerals. Over 100 civilians were injured and many of them are critical. In the operations troops destroyed four residential houses also.

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have condemned the killing of civilians by Indian troops in Drargad and Kachdora areas of South Kashmir.

Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar condemning the recent killings by Indian troops, said, “As long as Govt of India address the political and humanitarian problem of Kashmir militarily and through force Kashmiri will continue to die or be forced to pick up arms for resistance.” »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of Rouf Ahmed Khanday at his native Dehruna village in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

People from adjacent areas raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans marched towards Dehruna village to see the last glimpse of the martyr. Khanday was martyred by Indian troops during an overnight cordon and search operation by Indian forces in Dialgam Village of the district. »

Two-day strike against killings

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred 15 youth and injured as many as 100 in Shopian and Islamabad districts in a single day, today.

The youth were killed during cordon and search operations, launched by Indian forces at Dagdard and Kachdoora areas of the two districts in South Kashmir. The toll is likely to increase once the operation is over. The killed who were identified included Jan Mohammad Lone and Zubair Ahmad Butt. They were injured in troops’ firing on protesters and succumbed at a local hospital. Thousands of people participated in the funeral of Rouf Bashir Khanday at his native Dehruna village in Islamabad district. Police confirmed that one of the martyred youth, Mushtaq Ahmad Thokar, was picked up by the Indian army last night. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, another civilian youth has been killed in firing by Indian troops on protesters in Kulgam district, today.

The deceased civilian has been identified as Jan Mohammad Lone of Braipora area of Shopian district.

Jan Mohammad Lone received bullet injuries in abdomen during protests against the killings of many youth in nearby Kachdoora area. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two-day shutdown is being observed across the territory from today against the killing of 12 youth and injuries to dozens of civilians by Indian forces in South Kashmir.

Call for the strike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik against the killings. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that criminal silence maintained by the puppet authorities over rape and murder of an-eight year Jammu girl is very sad and painful.

Syed Ali Gilani in his statement issued in Srinagar said, “When it comes to people of Kashmir it seems all have decided to turn a blind eye.” He expressed shock over the slow pace of proceedings in Kathua minor’s murder and rape case, saying that attempts were being made to shelve the case like that of Asifa-Nilofer double murder case. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their unabated acts of state terrorism, martyred twenty nine Kashmiris including a woman and a young boy during the last month of March.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, these killings rendered one woman widowed and four children orphaned.

Of those martyrs four youth were killed in different fake encounters by the Indian forces. »

London, April 01 (KMS): A petition that was presented to the leader of the Sheffield City Council, Julie Dore by Sahira Irshad, Professor Nazir Ahmed and Barrister Abdul Majid Tramboo, has been result-oriented.

The leader of the council has constituted a cross-party Kashmir working group. It was requested by the petitioners that the leader of the council adds her voice in support of the British Kashmiris who campaign for peace, justice and the right to self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, April 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq visited Aali Kadal area of Srinagar to express solidarity with the families whose houses were gutted in a fire incident, recently.

During interactions with the eight affected families, Mirwaiz Muar Farooq expressed shock and grief over the damage caused by the blaze, and laid emphasis on immediate rehabilitation of all the victim families. »
