Shutdown observed on 4th successive day today

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, curfew and restrictions were imposed by the Indian authorities across the territory to prevent a solidarity march towards Shopian, today.

Call for the march was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership to express solidarity with the people and families of 18 martyrs, massacred by the Indian troops on Sunday. The authorities sealed all main roads and highways including Pulwama-Shopian highway with barricades. The troops were deployed in large numbers in Srinagar, Pulwama and South Kashmir districts to prevent the march. »

Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed on Friday: PM Abbasi

Muzaffarabad, April 04 (KMS): A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter called on Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, in Muzaffarabad, today, and briefed him on the prevailing human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK delegation comprised Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mehmood Ahmed Sagar, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Aijaz Rehmani, Ishtiaq Hameed and Shamim Shawl. The delegation also apprised the Prime Minister about the use of brute force including chemical weapons by the Indian troops against the innocent Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed the illegal detention of APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Political League (JKMPL), Farooq Ahmed Tawheedi, ordering his immediate release.

The JKMPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi was arrested by the Indian police in the beginning of 2017 and was detained at different places and was shifted to Kathua Jail in Jammu after being booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act. He said that the court while quashing the detention order under PSA against the party chairman ordered his immediate release.

Gilani barred from coming out of his house

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police, today, arrested the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, after he defied his house arrest and tried to march towards Shopian town.

Call for the march has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to express solidarity with the families of the people martyred by Indian troops in South Kashmir on Monday. The leaders were also scheduled to hold a rally in Shopian. »

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations while expressing deep shock over the brutal murder of another civilian from Kangan, Gowher Ahmed Rather, have condemned the unrelenting Indian state terrorism in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar asked India when its thirst for the blood of young Kashmiris would be satiated. »

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that if India believes that the Kashmir dispute will be resolved militarily, it is living in a fool’s paradise.

The Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The Kashmir issue can never be resolved through military might as it is a political and human issue, based on the principle of the right to self-determination.” »

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, has welcomed that Government of Pakistan’s decision to declare April 6 as Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “It is a matter of satisfaction that Government of Pakistan has decided to observe April 6 as the Kashmir Solidarity Day over the loss of 18 young souls in the past few days.”

However, she asked Pakistan to make the Kashmir problem as its national issue for its resolution as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, April 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed on the fourth consecutive day, today, against the killings of 18 youth during cordon and search operations and in firing on protesters by Indian troops on Sunday and Monday.

The puppet authorities have imposed strict restrictions in Srinagar, Shopian, Islamabad, Kangan and other parts of the territory in view of call for the march towards Shopian, today, given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The march is aimed to express solidarity with the victim families in South Kashmir. »

Islamabad, April 04 (KMS): Noted Kashmiri jurist and Secretary General of the London-based Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR), Dr Syed Nazir Gilani has said that the Sunday April 1st killings in Shopian district and other south areas of Indian occupied Kashmir expose Indian army’s design that it is using demographic and psycho-graphic profiling to decimate the youth of Kashmir.

Dr Nazir Gilani in his latest write-up emphasised that the manner of killing and the news  that chemical weapons were being used to burn down the buildings  had shaken every human soul in Kashmir, Pakistan and in many other places around the globe. He welcomed the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s visit to Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir to address the people to show solidarity with the Kashmiris. Government of Pakistan, the State and every Pakistani, Gilani added, had an obligation under UNCIP Resolutions and under Article 257 of the Constitution of Pakistan to help the People of Kashmir. »

New Delhi, April 04 (KMS): After the ruling by the High Court of occupied Kashmir, Indian Supreme Court has also endorsed that the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir, is not a temporary provision.

The Indian apex court gave the ruling while hearing an appeal filed by petitioner Kumari Vijayalakshmi Jha, against the Delhi High Court’s April 11, 2017 order dismissing the plea seeking a declaration that Article 370 is temporary in nature. »
