Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the fresh arrest spree unleashed by the Indian forces in every nook and corner of the Valley, especially in Budgam district.

The DFP spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said on one hand the men in uniform are killing youth on one pretext or the other and on the other they are arresting innocent people for raising their voice against the ongoing Indian tyranny. »

Many protesters injured in troops’ action in Pulwama

Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, defying restrictions, thousands of people attended funeral prayers of a martyred youth, Mussavir Ahmed Wani, in Pulwama district, today, while several people were injured when the Indian forces used brute force on protesters.

Mussavir Ahmed Wani was killed by the Indian troops during a cordon and search operation, yesterday. The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in the entire district, today, and sealed all entry and exit points of Pulwama town to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killing. However, defying restrictions, thousands of people assembled in Mussavir Wani’s native Delipora village and participated in his funeral prayers. »

United Nations, April 07 (KMS): The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has reiterated his concern over the situation in occupied Kashmir and his call for protecting civilians.

“The Secretary General has expressed and will continue to express his concern at the situation,” his Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said to a question about Kashmir at his daily briefing.

“I think we spoke about the situation earlier in the week reminding all parties of the need to protect civilians,” he added.

Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities are not releasing senior APHC leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, even after the High Court has quashed his detention under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA), for the third time.

Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori’s family said in an interview that the High Court quashed the third PSA against him on March 20 but instead of releasing him, the police have secured remand for him from a local court in Sopore. »

Brussels, April 07 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, has said that the international community must take serious notice of human rights abuses being perpetrated by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels revealed that the KCEU is dispatching official letters to the United Nations, European Union and international human rights organizations to draw their attention towards the awful situation in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown continues in Shopian district and in Kangan area of Ganderbal against the recent killing of people by Indian troops.

The troops had killed 12 people on April 1 during cordon and search operations and shot dead four others by opening fire on ensuing protesters in Draged, Sugan and Kachdoora areas. A youth, Gowher Ahmed Rathar, was killed in the indiscriminate firing of the troops on protesters in Kangan on April 2. »

Mussavir Ahmed Wani was killed by the Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Kangan area of the district, yesterday.

The puppet authorities imposed restrictions in the entire district, today, and sealed all entry and exit points of Pulwama town to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killing. However, defying restrictions, thousands of people from adjoining villages and other far flung areas of the district marched to Mussavir Wani’s native Delipora village and participated in his funeral prayers. Eyewitnesses said that some mujahideen appeared during the funeral and offered gun salute to the martyred youth. »

Srinagar, April 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the school education department has denied information under RTI (Right to Information) Act regarding occupation of schools by the Indian forces in last three decades. The information was sought by Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS).

A report ‘Terrorized – Impact of violence on children of Jammu and Kashmir’, prepared by the JKCCS said that the education department had denied information to it. »
