Shutdown in many areas, detention of leaders continue

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, massive protests were held in all major towns of the territory, today, against the killing of four civilians by the Indian troops in Khudwani area of Kulgam while several people were injured due to the use of brute force by the troops on the protesters.

Call for the demonstrations was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership and it was also aimed at demanding justice for eight-year-old girl Aasifa, who was raped and murdered in Kathua area of Jammu by the people affiliated with extremist Hindu groups and Special Police Officers of Indian police. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown continued in South and North Kashmir, today, against the killing of four civilians by Indian troops in Kulgam district.

All shops and commercial establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road.

Four civilians were killed after Indian troops opened fire on protesters in Khudwani area of Kulgam on Wednesday. »

Islamabad, April 13 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a protest demonstration in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, today.

The protesters were holding banners and chanting slogans denouncing the human rights abuses being committed by the Indian troops in the occupied territory. They also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the voice for justice to Asifa, an 8-year-old girl who was gang-raped and murdered in Kathua area of Jammu, has started to come from across India and abroad.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the widespread response to the case has come after the police Crime Branch charge-sheet filed in a local court, revealed disturbing details of how the minor girl was abducted, drugged, gang-raped for seven days and killed inside a temple. The brutal incident, scripted to incite fear among the Muslims in Kathua, has become a prime issue within and outside India. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has strongly condemned the continued illegal house detention of its Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt.

The JKSM spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the action of the puppet authorities to keep Zafar Akbar Butt forcibly confined to his house as a policy of political revenge and harassment. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission has directed the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Pulwama to file a detailed report about the recent arrest of seven activists of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) in Pulwama.

The commission directed the authorities concerned to file the report by May 16. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many people were injured after Indian forces used brute force on protesters in Kupwara district.

People staged forceful demonstrations at Shumnag in Trehgam area of the district against the Indian brutalities in the territory. Indian police and troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters injuring at least ten people. One of the injured has been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment. »

Srinagar, April 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), Merajuddin Soleh has condemned the Jammu lawyers for helping to save the rapists and murders of a minor girl, Aasifa Bano.

Merajuddin Soleh in a statement issued in Srinagar said Hindu extremists have now become so bold that they were demolishing mosques and using temples for raping girls. »
