JRL condemns HR abuses by Indian troops in IOK

Srinagar, April 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has demanded stern punishment for the rapists and killers of 8-year-old Aasifa and reopening of all rape cases committed by the Indian forces’ personnel since 1990.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar said, while today there is a global outrage and demand for justice for Aasifa, Kashmiris demand justice for the hundreds of rape victims. He said that the Indian forces’ personnel had committed the heinous crimes of gang-rapes in Kunanposhpora, Chak Saidpora, Pazipora, Shopian, Badasgam, Balipora and other areas to break the resolve of the Kashmiri people and intimidate them into submission. He said that all these incidents must be investigated through impartial agencies to punish the culprits. »

New Delhi, April 20 (KMS): The Child Rights and You (CRY), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has said that a sexual offence is committed against a child in India after every 15 minutes and there has been an increase of more than 500 percent over the past 10 years in crime against children.

The analysis by the NGO in its report revealed that more than 50 percent of crimes against children had been recorded in just five Indian states – Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and West Bengal. »

Srinagar, April 20 (KMS: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed concern over the deteriorating health of ailing party activist, Farooq Ahmad Butt, of Kupwara.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that Farooq Ahmad Butt had been languishing in jails outside for the last over 17 months. He said during the period he developed several diseases but the puppet authorities were not releasing him. He said that not a single charge was proved against Farooq Ahmad but despite that his detention was being prolonged on one pretext or the other. »

Srinagar, April 20 (KMS: In occupied Kashmir, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Paerwan-e-Wilayat and Mahaz-e-Azadi have strongly condemned the use of brute force by the Indian forces on the students protesting against the rape and murder of Kathua minor girl.

The JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the assault on students in Shopian, Sopore, Islamabad, Pulwama, Bandipora and other areas was the worst kind of barbarism. »

Srinagar, April 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in Srinagar, today.

A JKLF spokesman in a statement said that a police party raided the residence of Muhammad Yasin Malik in Maisuma area of Srinagar this morning and took him into custody. “He has been lodged at Kothibagh police station,” the spokesman said. »

Jammu, April 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, shutdown is being observed by the Muslims in Kishtwar and Bhadarwah areas of Jammu region, today, to demand speedy trial in the rape and murder case of Aasifa Bano of Kathua.

Call for the shutdown has been given by Majlis-e-Shoura Kishtwar and Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah as a mark of solidarity with the family of eight-year-old Aasifa. The heads of both the organizations have warned the Indian government and its puppet administration in occupied Kashmir against succumbing to the pressure of communal forces. »

Jammu, April 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the lone woman officer in the Crime Branch team of police that investigated the rape and murder of eight-year-old Aasifa of Kathua has said that it was very difficult to collect evidences from Rasana area in an atmosphere of extreme hostility.
