Troops target journalists with Delhi’s consent

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India has massacred six hundred thousand Kashmiris during the past seven decades.

Syed Ali Gilani said this while addressing the mourners in Tral area of Pulwama from his residence in Srinagar where he is under house arrest. He pointed out that New Delhi was using its military might to crush the basic rights of the Kashmiri people. Syed Ali Gilani emphasized that India suffered from arrogance of power. On one hand, he added, India is parroting for fight against global terrorism, and, on the other, it has unleashed a reign of terror in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two Indian policemen and one civilian were injured in a grenade blast in a police station in Kulgam district on Thursday night.

Police claimed that unknown persons lobbed a grenade which exploded inside police station in Kulgam town which left two policemen and a civilian injured. The injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several students were injured when the Indian troops barged into the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) at Awantipora in Islamabad and fired bullets, pellets teargas shells inside the campus.

The troops’ action triggered anti-India protests in the campus. Students raised “We want freedom”, Jevee Javee Pakistan,” and “Ham Pakistani hain, Pakistan Hamara hai” slogans. The troops used brute force and fired bullets and tear gas shells on the students. »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has said that India has snatched the right to live from the Kashmiri youth by pushing them to the wall.

The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said New Delhi’s refusal to resolve Kashmir dispute is forcing youth to take up arms and in the process they lose their lives in pursuit of liberating their land. »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to four youth martyred by Indian troops at Tral in Pulwama district.

The Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmir dispute had been pending with the United Nations for the past seven decades and the rigid stance of India was the main hurdle in its peaceful settlement. He said that Kashmir had been turned into a military garrison and the people were being deprived of fundamental rights. Sehrai said that India should read the writing on the wall and should come forward to settle the lingering dispute through meaningful and result-oriented talks. »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the human rights commission has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) and Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir to submit a report on the management of student protest.

In a fresh petition filed before the rights commission seeking deployment of special magistrate during student protests, the Commission sought response from the authorities. »

Paris, April 26 (KMS): Reporters Without Borders also known as Reporters Sans Frontières(RSF), an international organization that defends freedom of the press across the globe, in its annual report said that coverage in Indian occupied Kashmir continues to be very difficult because Kashmiri journalists working for local media outlets are often targeted by soldiers at the behest of Indian government.

The Reporters Without Borders (RSF) in its report while referring to the problems faced by journalists in occupied Kashmir said, “Foreign reporters are barred from the region and the Internet is often disconnected there. When not detained, Kashmiri journalists working for local media outlets are often the targets of violence by soldiers acting with the central government’s tacit consent.” »

Srinagar, April 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, attackers decamped with four service rifles of policemen in an attack on a police post in the outskirts of Srinagar.

A group of attackers launched the attack on the police post of 13 battalion located at Goripora (Hyderpora), and decamped with four rifles including one Insas, one carbine and two SLRs. »
