Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the youth martyred by the Indian troops in Pulwama and Shopian areas.

The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC) Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, in a statement in Srinagar paying homage to the youth martyrs by the troops at Drubgam in Pulwama said that these martyrs laid down their lives for a noble cause and their sacrifices would not go waste. He said that the Indian forces were using every weapon in their armoruy to intimidate the Kashmiris into submission but would never succeed in their nefarious designs. »

Shutdown in south Kashmir to mourn killing of youth

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers of a student, Umar Kumhar, in Shopian district, today.

Umar Kumhar, a ninth class student, was killed and more than thirty people were injured when the Indian troops fire bullets, pellets and teargas shells on protests against a cordon and search operation in Turkawangam area of the district, last evening. The troops had also damaged two residential houses and at least four cowsheds in the area. »

Srinagar, May 03 (KMS): Occupied Kashmir is one of the most dangerous places of the world where people associated with the press and media are performing their professional duties in the most difficult circumstances and situation.

According to the data released by Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, today, ten journalists have been confirmed as being killed while performing their duties during the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation struggle since 1989. They included Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Mushtaq Ali, Ghulam Muhammad Lone, Ghulam Rasool Azad, Muhammad Shaban Wakeel, Pervez Muhammad Sultan, Mushtaq Ahmed and a woman scribe, Aasiya Jeelani. »
