IOK turned into a slaughter house: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged forceful demonstrations in Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama and other areas, today, to register protest against the surge in killings and arrests by the Indian troops across the territory.

Under the banner of Joint Resistance Leadership people took to the streets in Nowhatta, Hyderpora, Lal Chowk and other areas of Srinagar and held anti-India demonstrations and rallies. The protesters were led by Hurriyat leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmed Sofi, Molvi Bashir Ahmed, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Muhammad Saleem Zargar and Khawaja Firdous Wani. The demonstrators were holding placards with slogans demanding end to killings, arrests and other brutalities of the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that Kashmir is a political dispute and can be settled by giving the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a public gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar said that Kashmir and particularly South Kashmir had been turned into a slaughter house where innocent people and especially youth and students were being killed on daily basis. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders and activists staged a peaceful protest at Lal Chowk in Srinagar against the killings and maiming of Kashmiris by the Indian troops.

The JKLF leaders and activists including Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Mushtaq Ajmal, Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, Bashir Kashmiri, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Ashraf bin Salam, Merajuddin Parray and Imtiyaz Ahmad along with people from different walks of life gathered at Madina Chowk and marched towards Lal Chowk. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission has directed the puppet administration to submit a report on the killings in the year 2017.

The Commission member, Abdul Hameed Wani, while hearing a petition filed by the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, issued notice to Director General of Police and Chief Secretary of the occupied territory seeking report on the killings by July 2. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt, today, when he defied his house detention to lead a march towards Shopian district against the killing of youth by the Indian troops.

The JKSM in a statement issued in Srinagar said that a posse of police personnel stationed outside the residence of Zafar Akbar Butt prevented him and dozens of party activists from moving towards Shopian and arrested him. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has said that settlement of Kashmir dispute is imperative for permanent peace in the region.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a public gathering in Achabal area of Islamabad town said that Kashmiri people were the prime party to the Kashmir dispute and it could not be resolved without their involvement. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops raided the house of martyred commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Sameer Ahmed Butt alias Sameer Tiger, in Pulwama district and took down his posters, triggering protests and clashes in the area.

The troops arrived in Drubgam, the native village of Sameer Ahmed Butt, last night and took down his posters. Announcements were made over the public address systems of the mosques, appealing people to come out of their homes to stop the vandalism by the troops. Soon, clashes erupted as the locals took to streets and held protests against the troops’ action. »

Lucknow, May 04 (KMS): Students of Aligarh Muslim University sat on an indefinite dharna (sit-in) at the university gate a day after they were lathicharged for protesting the police inaction against rightwing outsiders creating ruckus on the campus.

The outsiders affiliated with the Hindu Yuva Vahini had created disorder inside the campus on Wednesday. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, at least 45 youth from the Kashmir Valley including an MBA and a PhD scholar have joined mujahid organizations this year till mid-April, according to officials, as the surge in numbers take the occupation authorities by surprise.

The Indian police, Army and paramilitary forces have said that Shopian and Kulgam in south Kashmir have emerged as a major hub by respectively accounting for 12 and 9 of the 45 youth joining the mijahid organisations. »

Srinagar, May 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two youth from Shopian injured in the firing of the Indian troops on protesters during a siege and search operation have said that they are ready to lay down their lives to save mujahideen.

A video of the injured youth being ferried to hospital on Wednesday evening surfaced on social media showing them saying, “We are ready to sacrifice our lives for our mujahideen brothers.” »
