Strike cripples normal life in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people today participated in multiple funerals of Saddam Hussain Padder and Bilal Ahmad, who were martyred along with eight other youth during a cordon and search operation and in firing by the Indian troops in Shopian, yesterday.

At least, 18 rounds of funerals were offered for the two martyrs with each attended by thousands. A group of mujahideen appeared during the funerals and offered gun salute to them.

Hundreds of Kashmir University students assembled outside the Allama Iqbal Library in Srinagar and offered funeral prayers in absentia for the martyred Assistant Professor of the university, Dr Muhammad Rafi. Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Maulana Abbas Ansari condemned the killings in Shopian and described it as the worst kind of Indian state terrorism. »

BSF man commits suicide in IOK

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq after he defied his house detention and tried to march towards the Civil Secretariat on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) to protest against the yesterday’s killings.

A police party detained the Mirwaiz and lodged him at Nigeen police station in Srinagar. The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik had called for the march towards Secretariat. »

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people on Monday participated in the funeral prayers of Sadam Hussain Padder and Bilal Ahmad, who were martyred along with eight other youth during a cordon and search operation and in firing by the Indian troops in Shopian on Sunday.

Saddam was an associate of martyred young liberation leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani, who was martyred in July 2016 triggering a massive uprising. »

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the latest killings in Shopian by the Indian troops and described it as the worst kind of Indian state terrorism.

The troops in their ongoing acts of state terrorism martyred 10 youth including a Kashmir University professor and a teenager in Shopian district, yesterday, bringing the death toll to 15 during the past three days. »

New Delhi, May 07 (KMS): A fact-finding team of women’s rights group Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan (PMS) defending the Crime Branch investigation into the gang rape and murder of the eight-year-old Kathua girl has rejected the demand for probe by the Delhi-based Central Bureau of Investigation into the case.

The fact-finding team which visited Kathua before filing of charge-sheet against the culprits in its report rejected the demand for CBI probe, saying “it would amount to belittling judiciary” which was monitoring investigation of the case. »

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, hundreds of Kashmir University students marched through the campus raising pro-Pakistan, pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, assembled outside the Allama Iqbal Library and offered funeral prayers in absentia for the martyred Assistant Professor of the university, Dr Muhammad Rafi.

Dr Muhammad Rafi was killed by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Badigam village of Shopian district, yesterday. He was working as Assistant Professor in the Sociology department of the varsity. »

Normal life crippled in Kashmir to mourn Shopian killings

Srinagar, May 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the Valley, today, to prevent a march towards the civil secretariat and a sit-in protest against the killing of 10 youth by the Indian troops in Shopian, yesterday.

Call for the march and sit-in outside civil secretariat in Srinagar was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik after the killing of the youth. »
