Internet Shut in Shopian for 16th consecutive day

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party and senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has asked India to accept the right to self determination of the Kashmiri people, guaranteed by the United Nations Security Council.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who is lodged in Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail, in a message released in Srinagar deplored that India had started the bloody game in the occupied territory after closing all doors to resolve the Kashmir dispute politically. However, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that freedom struggle had been successfully transferred to the new generation. He condemned the killings of the Kashmiri youth on daily basis. The ailing Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who is confined in an 8 by 6 feet cell of Tihar jail, is denied proper medical facilities in the jail. »

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Martyrdom Week commenced, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and martyrs of Hawal.

A large number of people attended the functions of the recitation of Holy Quran that were held at headquarters and other offices of the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Awami Action Committee (AAC) in Srinagar and other towns. Special prayers were offered for Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal. »

Indian army’s patrolling party attacked in Tral

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, mobile Internet services continued to remain shut in south Kashmir’s Shopian district for sixteenth straight day on Wednesday.

The residents told media that both the broadband and mobile Internet services were blocked in the area on 30th April, 2018 following civilian killings by the Indian troops in Pulwama.

Because of the blockade, rumours are doing rounds that the clampdown would remain in force for a period of three months. »

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the resistance leaders have slammed Israel for perpetrating genocide of innocent Palestinians protesting against the shifting of US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The leaders in their separate statements also denounced the criminal silence of the world community and human rights organisations over the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. Over 60 Palestinians have been killed and thousands wounded by the brutal Israeli forces during protests against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem. »

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, member of the so-called Assembly from Shopian, Advocate Mohammad Yousuf Butt, while fuming over the continued ban on the internet services in South Kashmir has said that nobody among the (puppet) administration wants to speak on this mysterious, unannounced, internet gag.

Advocate Yousuf Butt in a media interview in Srinagar said, “Even though I am a legislator, I am helpless before the administration.” »

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the lawyers associated with High Court Bar Association suspended work at courts against the arrest of a fraternity member.

General Secretary of the Bar Association, G N Shaheen told media in Srinagar that Shabbir Ahmad Bukhari Bukhari was called on telephone by IGP Kashmir to present himself before him on Saturday (May 12).

“The advocate voluntarily presented himself before the police authorities and since then his whereabouts were not known and was missing in custody, which has forced the lawyers to go for the protest strike demanding his immediate release,” he added. »

Srinagar, May 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to the territory is aimed at hoodwinking the world’s opinion on the Kashmir dispute.

The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar called for a march towards Srinagar’s Lal Chowk on Saturday (May 19) against Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to occupied Kashmir. »
