Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH), Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has said that the Indian government’s announcement of ceasefire in the territory is a cosmetic measure.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai talking to media men in Srinagar said that it could not be termed as a ceasefire in the first place. “How can you term it a ceasefire?” he questioned, saying that as the Government of India has said that they will stop killing in the month of Ramadan, consequently meaning the killings will continue after Eid. He said that a ceasefire should have been long-term and followed by a concrete and practical roadmap for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. »

New Delhi, May 17 (KMS): The immigration bureau of India has arrested three Kashmiri youth who were travelling to Pakistan via Attari border in Amritsar.

“They were detained in a local police station for a day. During their interrogation, the youth said they were going to Pakistan for study purpose. This is not the first case of Kashmiris being arrested at Attari,” an intelligence officer said.

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) deputy inspector general (DIG) JS Oberoi confirmed the arrest. »

Srinagar, May 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front, held a protest demonstration and a hunger strike camp in Srinagar to express solidarity with Kashmiri Muslim brethren.

The activists of Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front had raised banners on the makeshift tent calling for an end to bloodbath and settlement of the Kashmir dispute. The banners also read “Kashmiri Hindus in support of Kashmiri Muslims”, “Don’t kill our Muslim brothers” and “Long live Kashmiriyat and brotherhood.” »

Islamabad, May 17 (KMS): Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR) chairman and a renowned Kashmiri jurist Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani has said that Indian Army does not have any mandate to be in Kashmir and the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their sympathizers have a right to fight to undo the Indian occupation.

Dr Nazir Gilani currently visiting Pakistan, while reacting to Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat’s statement that “Azadi will not happen, one can’t fight Army” has said that the statement did not carry any merit. He said that no army on earth had ever won a war against an unwilling people and Indian army was no exception. »
