Development mantra is distraction move

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, resistance leaders including Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Yasin Malik have said that the incident of firing by Indian army on fasting civilians in Shopian and injuries to four teenage girls have badly exposed the ceasefire drama enacted by New Delhi to hoodwink the world community.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar termed the attempt by the Indian troops to arrange so-called Iftaar in Shopian as shameful. He said these are the same troops who butchered and massacred hundreds of youth, wounded, maimed and blinded thousands just for peaceful protests in demand of their basic right to self-determination. »

IAF chopper crash-lands in Jammu

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, ten people were injured in a grenade blast at Goriwan in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district. Four injured have been referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment by the doctors at Sub District Hospital Bijbehara. At least six other injured are undergoing treatment at SDH Bijbehara, a doctor of the hospital said. »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, visited Bijbehara hospital and inquired about the condition of the people including women who were injured in a grenade blast in Bijbehara town. Mukhtar Ahmed Waza on the occasion expressed deep sympathy with the injured. »

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, this is what the Indian army means by the much hyped ceasefire. He said, “Indian forces are the same people who butchered and massacred hundreds of youth – irrespective of whether they were armed or unarmed – wounded, maimed and blinded thousands just for peaceful protests in demand of their basic right, the right to self-determination.” »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, International Forum for Justice and Human Rights (IFJHR) organized a silent protest at Pratap Park in Srinagar and presented a report on Hawal massacre.

Over 60 mourners were killed in Hawal area of Srinagar on 21st of May 1990 when Indian troops opened fire on the funeral procession of Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Srinagar on the same day.

The sit-in was attended by the IFJHR Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, and Hurriyat leaders and activists including Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Yasmeen Raja, Mushtaq Kashmiri, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiaz Ahmad Reshi and Sajjad Gul. A detailed report compiled by a team of experts led by Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo on Hawal massacre was released on the occasion. »

Our goal is clear, we want freedom: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that Kashmir struggle is not for the development of roads or seeking economic packages but purely for securing the right to self-determination as promised by the Indian leaders themselves.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in an angry response to the curbs imposed by the puppet authorities on him and other leaders of the Joint Resistance Leadership took to social media for reaching out to people and put out a 30-minute long video message coming down heavily on the authorities. Annoyed for being disallowed to reach the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar to pay tributes to his father, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq, on his 28th martyrdom anniversary, he took to Facebook and Twitter to address the people. »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference will organize a day-long Nuzool-e-Quran conference in Srinagar on Sunday.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the event will be presided over by the APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, at his Hyderpora office in Srinagar. »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has said that the Indian authorities are prolonging the illegal detention of its Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, under baseless cases which is highly condemnable.

A JKML spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam Butt was brought to Srinagar on Tuesday from Kot Bhalwal Jail of Jammu region and was produced before Additional District and Session Judge, Srinagar, in connection with a false case registered against him in Nowhatta Police Station. He said that after hearing the arguments the judge fixed the next hearing of the case on June 2, 2018. He said that later the party Chairman was shifted back to Kot Bhalwal Jail. »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Javaid Ahmed Mir, visited SMHS Hospital in Srinagar and enquired about the condition of the teenage female students who were injured in the firing of Indian Army personnel at DK Pora in Shopian on Monday.

Muhammad Yousuf Naqash and Javaid Ahmed Mir prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured girls and expressed sympathies with their families. »

Srinagar, May 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the prolonged detention of Maulana Sarjan Barkati who is languishing in Indian jail from 2016. Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement in Srinagar said that a person who was the only bread earner of a big family had been kept in jails for the past two years and his family was suffering because of this apathy. »
