Concern raised about falling health of dr Fakhtoo in jail

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of people were injured when Indian troops used brute force on peaceful protesters in Srinagar, today.

People took out a pro-freedom and anti-India rally after the Juma prayers ended at historic Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of Srinagar. The participants of the rally raised high-pitched slogans in favour of freedom and against India. The Indian troops deployed in the area fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the troops. Dozens of people were injured, some of them critically, in the troops’ action. Eyewitnesses said that many teargas shells exploded inside the premises of the mosque. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Grand Mufti-designate, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam has demanded that Indian Army Major Leetul Gogoi, who was arrested from a local hotel, the other day, should be hanged.

Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar said, Indian army is in occupied Kashmir to spread the immorality without caring for the social values of Kashmiris. “They want to break the social fabric of Kashmiris which keeps us tied together. The moment they will break this thread on which the morals of our society rests, the collective political will of the people will ultimately tear apart,” he said. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that those languishing in Tihar jail, Delhi, including its chief Shabbir Ahmad Shah are facing toughest times of their lives as they are being targeted psychologically and the jail is proving Guantanamo Bay for Kashmiri prisoners.

The DFP spokesman in a statement in Srinagar referred to a letter written by Kashmiri prisoners lodged in Tihar jail, stressing the Director General Prisons, New Delhi, to take immediate and appropriate measures to safeguard the lives of Kashmiri detainees including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, who has been booked in an old fabricated case of 2005. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health of its illegally detained President, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, at Udhampur Jail in Jammu.

A spokesman of MDM in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo is suffering from various ailments and in absence of any medical treatment his condition has deteriorated considerably.” He said that Dr Qasim was being subjected to political vendetta due to his uncompromising political stand and was shifted to Udhampur Jail to suffer further. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the International Forum of Justice and Human Rights (IFJHR) Jammu and Kashmir held a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar seeking arrest of Indian Army Major, Leetul Gagoi, who used a Kashmiri youth, Farooq Ahmed Dar, as a human shield.

The IFJ Chairman, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, led the protest and said that the police was still investigating the human shield case despite the fact that Major Gagoi had accepted that he had used Farooq Dar as a human shield in Chill Brass Village. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties and the President of Anjuman Shari Shian, Aga Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi has expressed serious concern over the ceasefire violations and the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Aga Syed Hasan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi addressing people in Budgam said that the region would not witness peace till resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute. »

4 including 3 cops injured in Jammu blast

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, body of a 38-year-old man was found with his throat slit in Hajin area of Bandipora district.

The body of Muhammad Yaqoob Wagay, a butcher by profession, was found outside his house at Gund Prang in Hajin.

Meanwhile, three Indian police personnel including an SHO and a civilian were injured in a grenade blast in Jammu. The incident occurred at General Bus Stand in Jammu late last night when unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a police vehicle, causing injuries to four people including three policemen. »

Srinagar, May 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said Kashmir is a political dispute and should be settled through political means in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a public gathering at Naien in Pulwama urged India to shun its confrontational approach and start meaningful dialogue for settlement of Kashmir dispute.

As long as Kashmir dispute is not resolved in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people peace in the region will remain a dream. He said the rigid policy of New Delhi is pushing Kashmir’s educated youth to the wall. »
