Aasiya and Neelofar were abducted, molested and subsequently killed by men in uniform in Shopian in May 2009. »

India asked to accept Kashmir as dispute

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of a martyred civilian, Bilal Ahmad Ganie, in Narwa area of Pulwama district, today.

Bilal Ahmad Ganie who was a driver by profession, was killed in firing by the Indian troops in Kakapora area of the district, last night. The mourners raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Women and children showered flowers on the funeral procession of the civilian youth. Hurriyat leaders and activists including Bashir Andrabi attended the funeral.

The killing of Bilal triggered complete shutdown in Pulwama district. All shops, business establishments, schools and government offices were closed while traffic was off the road. The authorities suspended internet and train services in the district to prevent protests. »

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people on Monday attended the funeral prayers of a civilian, Bilal Ahmad Ganai, at his native Narwa village in Pulwama district.

Bilal Ahmad Ganai was injured after Indian troops opened an indiscriminate fire following an attack on an Indian army camp in the area, last night. He succumbed at a local hostel, late night.

Thousands of mourners raised pro-freedom slogans as his body was brought to his ancestral village for funeral prayers.

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), Shabbir Ahmed Dar has said that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the dint of its military might and against the wishes of Kashmiri people.

Shabbir Ahmed Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said there are dozens of United Nations resolutions seeking final dispensation of disputed territories and India being a signatory to these resolutions is duty-bound to implement them. »

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) in association with Indian Association of People’s Lawyers (IAPL) has called upon India to investigate the cases of enforced disappearances, ensure speedy justice to victims and prosecute the perpetrators of enforced disappearances.

On the eve of the International Week of the Disappeared, the APDP in a statement said, “Following the commission of widespread and systematic enforced disappearances of more than 8,000 persons in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has chosen to protect itself and its own forces by disregarding the very existence of the crime itself.” »

Delhi resorting to extreme repression: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has asked India to first accept Kashmir as a dispute and make resistance leadership’s 2010 five-point proposal basis for talks if New Delhi is serious in settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Syed Ali Gilani in addressing a religious function at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar, said entering into a dialogue without New Delhi accepting the basic reality would prove futile like numerous times in the past. The statement comes a day after Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh said India was ready to hold talks with Hurriyat and Pakistan “if they wanted a dialogue.” »

Internet, train services suspended in South Kashmir

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred another civilian youth in Pulwama district, last night.

The youth identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganai, a driver by profession, was injured after troops opened indiscriminate fire in Kakapora area of the district, late night. However, Ganai succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Earlier, Indian army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles camp came under an attack in the area. An Indian soldier was killed in the attack. »

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has demanded immediate revocation of suspension of its President, Dr Nisarul Hassan.

The DAK spokesman, Dr Riyaz Ahmad Daga in a statement in Srinagar termed the continued suspension of DAK President as unjustified and illegal.

He said the protracted suspension of Dr Nisar is against the judgment of Indian Supreme Court wherein a government employee cannot be kept under suspension for more than 90 days, if he or she is not formally informed about the charges. »

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Parvez Ahmad Dar, 37, lost his eyesight after being a victim of a grenade blast in May 1991 when he was walking toward his home in Maisuma area of Srinagar.

Parvez Ahmad Dar, who was 10 then, says it was better if he would have died in the blast because the official apathy toward the handicapped people in the territory has left him hopeless.

So far, Pervez Dar has not received any compensation from the puppet authorities or any other social welfare organisation. He says whenever the handicapped people have hit streets demanding their rights, the so-called rulers have responded with force. »

Several troops injured in IED blast in Shopian

Srinagar, May 28 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells in Pulwama district hospital injuring many people present in and around the hospital.

The protests erupted in Pulwama district hospital after police refused to hand over the dead body of a civilian Bilal Ahmad Ganai, who was killed by the Indian troops after an attack on Indian army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Dugam Kakapora in Pulwama, last night. Bilal Ahmad Ganai belonged to Lajoora area of Pulwama. »
