Shopian people complain of Army Raj

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the vandalism of residential houses and fruit orchards by the Indian troops in Shopian has deflated the balloon of India’s recent ceasefire hoax.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar pointed out that India and its stooges had waged a war on the people of the occupied territory, while the recent announcement of ceasefire was just a ploy to hoodwink the international community. He said that Indian army’s action at Sugan in Shopian in which they barged into houses, chopped off fruit trees and looted valuables vindicated their stand the people of Kashmir were reeling under martial-law like situation. »

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the brutal action of the Indian forces’ personnel in which they vandalized residential houses at Sugan in Shopian district. He said, India and its stooges like PDP-led coalition have waged a war on the people of the occupied territory and their rhetoric about peace and ceasefire stays deflated. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has asked people to observe complete shutdown on June 2 (Saturday).

Call for the shutdown has been given against the increase in recent civilian killings, desecration of religious places, unjustified deployment of heavy troops in the Jamia Masjid Srinagar area, desecration of graveyards of martyrs, chopping off fruit orchards at Shopian and plight of prisoners in various jails.

Washington, May 30 (KMS): The US State Department’s International Religious Freedom Report 2017 has criticized the Indian authorities for not registering cases against attacks by Hindu “cow vigilantes” on Muslims in India and occupied Kashmir.

The report released on Tuesday said that a group of “cow vigilantes” attacked a Muslim family in Reasi area of occupied Kashmir on April 25, leaving at least seven persons injured. “The family members were transporting a herd of cattle when the individuals attacked them,” the report said. It deplored that the police charged the Muslim family with transporting cattle without permission. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people staged forceful demonstrations in Drabgam area of Pulwama district, today, against the desecration and vandalization of the grave of a martyred youth, Sameer Ahmed Butt alias Sameer Tiger, by the Indian troops.

Locals said that after coming out of mosque following the early morning prayers they found that the headstone of Sameer Tiger’s grave was missing. They said that the Indian forces’ personnel vandalized the grave of Sameer at the Martyrs’ Graveyard in the area. They said that the stone had been taken away by the Indian Army, last night. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested three persons including father of four children in nocturnal raids in Sugan area of Shopian district.

The police conducted the raids two days after the injuring of three Indian soldiers when an army vehicle was hit a landmine in the area. Locals identified the detained persons as Altaf Ahmed Seh, Ghazi Muhammad Butt and Farooq Ahmed Najar. They said, Farooq Ahmed is father of four children. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has condemned the shifting of its President for Islamabad District Mir Hafeezullah from Saddar Police Station, Islamabad, to Mattan Police Station under frivolous charges.

Mir Hafeezullah was arrested during 2016 mass uprising. The courts rejected the allegations leveled against him and ordered his release, but he was lodged one after another jail, instead. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court has issued a notice to the puppet administration asking it to file a response within three weeks to a petition against the illegal detention of senior APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, under draconian law Public Safety Act (PSA).

After hearing advocate Mian Tufail, the consul for Masarrat Aalam Butt, the single bench of acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe issued the notice to the administration, directing it to file a response along with production of record within three weeks. »

Brussels, May 30 (KMS): The Chairman of Kashmir Council European Union (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, has expressed solidarity with the families of the thousands of Kashmiris who have been subjected to custodial disappearance by the Indian police and troops in occupied Kashmir during the past twenty-nine years.

Ali Raza Syed in a statement issued in Brussels in connection with the International Week of the Disappeared said, “We are with the families of the disappeared persons in occupied Kashmir.” He also appreciated the struggle of human rights organizations including Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) seeking the whereabouts of the disappeared people in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, has impressed upon the United Nations and all international and local human rights organizations to take serious notice of the worst human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian troops in the territory.

Mukhtar Ahmed Waza while addressing mourners at the residence of a martyred youth, Bilal Ahmed Ganai, in Lajora area of Pulwama demanded of the international community to take necessary measures to save the Kashmiri people from the Indian brutalities. He said that the people of Kashmir would never forget the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. Bilal Ahmed Ganai was recently killed in the firing by the Indian troops in Kakapora area of the district. »
