Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while recalling the 2009 rape and murder of Aasiya and Neolofar of Shopian regretted that the case was brushed aside under a well-planned conspiracy to shield the culprits and to deprive the victim families of justice.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while addressing a religious gathering at Zoonimar in Srinagar said, “Nine years on, no investigation was held and the case was brushed aside on a self-made and highly manipulated investigation report of Indian Central Bureau of Investigation. Instead of ordering an impartial probe into the incident, the case was hushed up under a well planned conspiracy to shield the real culprits and to deprive the victim families of the justice.” »

DC expresses helplessness to act against troops

Srinagar, May 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has condemned the re-arrest of party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, and her associates, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi in Srinagar.

The DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, in a statement in Srinagar said that after a Srinagar court issued orders of interim bail on Monday in favour of Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi, the police took them to Soura Police Station where another fake case was registered against them. “From there, the women leaders were taken to Rambagh Women’s Police Station and have been kept in police remand till June 02,” she said. »
