The police arrested the youth identified as Jehangir Ahmed Reshi, Azad Ahmed Butt, Nisar Ahmed Buttt, Bashir Ahmed Najar and Arshid Ahmed Dar during nocturnal raids in Zainageer area of Sopore. »

Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet administration has said that there is no legal binding on it to make public the report of the commission of inquiry constituted to probe into the killing of 125 civilians who were shot dead by the Indian troops and police during the mass uprising in 2010.

The puppet authorities in a report submitted to the Human Rights Commission of the territory in response to a Public Interest Litigation filed by M M Shuja, a human rights activist, said that the administration was within its rights not to make public the report submitted by the one-man commission of Justice M L Koul, retired judge Punjab and Haryana High Court. »

Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, Mir Shahid Saleem, Zafar Akbar Butt and others have said that India is using brutal tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self- determination, acknowledged by the international community.

Mir Shahid Saleem, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement, in a statement issued in Jammu criticized the recent statement of the Indian Army Chief, Bipin Rawat against the Kashmiri youth. He asked India to accept the fact that by killing Kashmiris New Delhi could not succeed in suppressing the decade’s old popular freedom struggle. »

Srinagar, May 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik held a meeting at the Hyderpora residence of the octogenarian leader and discussed a host of issues confronting the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kashmiri detainees denied medical aid in Tihar jail

Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party headed by illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has warned that unrealistic approach of India towards the long-pending Kashmir dispute can imperil peace and stability in the South Asian region.

The Democratic Freedom Party in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that India had compounded the miseries of the Kashmiri people by denying their internationally-accepted right to self- determination. The statement said that New Delhi could kill Kashmiris but it could not crush their freedom sentiment. »

Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, around half a dozen government teachers sustained injuries in the use of brute force by Indian police on protesters in Srinagar, today.

Dozens of teachers were detained by Kothi Bagh Police after they tried to march towards civil secretariat to press for their demands. As the teachers tried to march towards Civil Secretariat, the police party reached the spot and bundled dozens of them in police vehicles and lodged them in Kothi Bagh Police station. »

Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) celebrated its 40th foundation day with the resolve to continue its struggle against illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

The MeA held a meeting in Srinagar, which was presided over by its President Mir Muhammad Iqbal. The meeting paid rich tributes to all the martyrs of Kashmir who sacrificed their present for the future of Jammu Kashmir. »

Srinagar, May 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, scores of students of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, today, staged a protest against the detention of a B Tech student of the university.

The protesting students demanded immediate release of the student, who has been identified as Tasaduk Rashid Butt.

Media reports said that Tasaduk was picked up by the Indian police on Thursday night along with his father. The students raised slogans “Tasaduk ko Rihaa karo (release, Tasaduk)”.

Earlier in the morning, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of police had stopped a bus of the university at Pampore and noted down details of several male students.
