Shutdown to be observed in IOK tomorrow

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred 31 Kashmiris including a woman and 6 young boys during the last month of May.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, the killings rendered 3 women widowed and 5 children orphaned. During the period, 314 people were injured due to the use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by the Indian army, paramilitary and police personnel on peaceful protesters. 288 persons including Hurriyet leaders, activists and students were arrested during house raids and crackdown operations. The troops also damaged 67 residential houses and disgraced 6 women during the month. »

Srinagar June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has urged India to give up its obstinacy and policy of revenge and release all Kashmiri political prisoners forthwith, remove AFSPA and start withdrawal of its troops from the territory to pave way for settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute. »

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the attempt to set house of a mujahid on fire and vandalizing of properties by the Indian troops in South Kashmir areas.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that vandalizing the properties and houses of mujahideen was becoming a new way of harassment in South Kashmir villages, which is alarming. He said that on one hand, the puppet authorities claimed that there were positive results to their cessation of hostilities against the people, but on the other, hostilities continued in different forms to suppress people. »

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that desecration of graveyards, attacks on families of political opponents, destroying their residential houses and trying to burn down their families are inhuman and unethical.

Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a mammoth public gathering at Masjid Bilal (The bund), said Kashmir is burning and no one is paying heed to the cries of Kashmiris. “Our young and old are being slaughtered, arrested, tortured, tormented and humiliated with impunity by Indian forces. These killers in uniform enjoy immunity and legal cover provided by the so-called assembly,” he added. »

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have said that Kashmir is a sensitive political dispute and should be resolved politically and democratically according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmad Mir addressing a condolence meeting at Hazratbal in Srinagar said peace in the region is impossible without the just solution of Kashmir dispute. He said the Indian forces are resorting to destruction of graves and vandalisation of houses and orchards of common people which was unjust. »

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja along with a party delegation visited Kakpora, Pulwama, and condemned bulldozing residential houses and desecrating graveyards of the martyrs.

Yasmeen Raja addressing on the occasion said that India had started a war against the unarmed and innocent people of Kashmir. She said that the Indian government had announced ceasefire in the holy month of Ramadan but did not follow its decision. »

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi addressing a gathering in Badgam welcomed the decision of Pakistan and India to fully implement the ceasefire agreement of 2003. He said that it would give respite to the people living along the both sides of the Line of Control and the Working Boundary. »

Srinagar, June 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, four Indian troops and a civilian were injured after some unknown persons lobbed a grenade at a vehicle of Indian Central Reserve Police Force at Khanabal in Islamabad district, today.

An official said the injured were rushed to district hospital, Islamabad, for treatment. »
