SPO, shot at in Pulwama, succumbs to his injuries

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Forces personnel were injured when unknown persons lobbed a grenade at them in Srinagar on Saturday.

Grenade was lobbed at CRPF’s 82 battalion deployed in Fateh Kadal area of the city. One civilian was also injured in the attack.

Indian troops cordoned off the area to nab the attackers. The operation was going on when the last reports came in. »

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a youth was crushed to death while another sustained injuries after being run over by a vehicle of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Nowhatta area of Srinagar.

People staged a forceful demonstration outside Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid at Nowhatta after Juma prayers, yesterday, against the desecration of the grand mosque by the Indian police, last Friday. Soon a speedy CRPF vehicle that came from Khanyar drove into the protesters. The CRPF vehicle, according to eyewitnesses, in order to move out of the demonstration sped on, knocking down two boys Younis Ahmed and Qaiser Butt. They were rushed to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences where Qaiser succumbed to his injuries, early morning today. »

Shutdown observed in IOK, Gilani, Mirwaiz, Malik detained

Srinagar June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, dozens of people were injured when Indian troops and police personnel used brute force on the funeral of a martyred youth in Srinagar, today.

The youth, Qaiser Butt, in a new tactic of genocide by India, was deliberately run over by a vehicle of Indian Central Reserve Police Force in Nowhatta area of Srinagar during a demonstration, yesterday. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early morning today.

The puppet authorities imposed curfew and restrictions in Srinagar, today, to prevent people from attending the funeral prayers of the youth and staging demonstrations against his killing. Defying curfew and restrictions, thousands of people took part in the funeral prayers of Qaiser Butt first at Fateh Kadal Chowk and later at Eidgah in Srinagar. »

Srinagar June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the killing of another youth Qaiser Butt of Fateh Kadal by CRPF vehicle at Nowhatta yesterday.

The JRL in a statement in Srinagar said that the killing spree of Kashmirs by the forces continues despite ‘Ramadan ceasefire’ either by bullets, pellets or lately by crushing them under their vehicles. »

Gilani, Mirwaiz, Malik detained

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, against the surge in civilian killings, desecration of religious places and graves of martyrs and other brutalities of the Indian troops in the territory particularly in South Kashmir.

Call for the shutdown has been given the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik and is also aimed at drawing the attention of the world community towards the plight of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails. All shops and business establishments are closed in the territory while transport is off the road. »

New York, June 02 (KMS): Young Kashmiris living in the US organised a fund-raising event in New York for the pellet victims of occupied Kashmir.

The organisers held an Iftaar party, ‘A Kashmiri Iftaar’, with the aim to raise funds for the Kashmiri youth who had been victims of indiscriminate pellet firing by the Indian forces in Kashmir during peaceful protests. »

Not allowed to visit Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah

New Delhi, June 02 (KMS): Delhi police arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, from airport in New Delhi and did not allow him to proceed to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.

Zafar Akbar Butt along with his 80 years old mother was going to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage but the authorities at Delhi Airport detained him despite he was with his elderly mother, who was on wheelchair. »

Srinagar, June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian Army soldier committed suicide in Ganderbal district, last night.

The soldier identified as Havaldar Rajpal Singh, a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle while on duty at an army camp in Surfraw area of Kangan in the district.

This incident of suicide raised the number of such deaths among the Indian troops and police personnel in the territory to 402 since January 2007. »

Srinagar June 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has urged India and Pakistan to take tangible measures for bringing peace in region so that the bloodshed gets stopped in Valley and people living on borders are safe.

The Sikh leaders in a general meeting of APSCC in Srinagar appealed India and Pakistan to start a meaningful dialogue process without any further delay. »
