Anti-India protests in Pulwama, Kulgam

Srinagar, June 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the crushing of a youth, Qaisar Butt, to death by an Indian army vehicle saying that India is inventing new methods to carry out genocide of Kashmiri people in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar pointed out that besides spraying bullets and pellets, the Indian troops had started crushing the youth under their heavy vehicles. He said that India’s claim to be a big democracy was nothing but a deception. He emphasized that despite the Indian brutalities, the people of Kashmir would get rid of New Delhi’s forced slavery with utmost determination, discipline, dedication and unity.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar said that frustrated by the unity of Kashmiri resistance leadership, New Delhi and its local collaborators were taking ultimate repressive measures to force people of Kashmir into submission. He paid rich tributes to renowned politician and religious scholar Mirwaiz Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah on his 51st death anniversary.

Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmad Dar during his visit to the residence of martyr Qaiser Ahmad Butt in Srinagar, today termed his killing as a cold-blooded murder. Qaiser was deliberately run over by a vehicle of Indian Central Reserve Police Force in Nowhatta area of Srinagar during a demonstration, yesterday.

A local court granted the seven-day police remand to illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her associates Nahida Nasreen and Fahmeeda Sofi. The Kashmir Bar Association in a statement expressed concern over the deteriorating health conditions of Aasiya Andrabi and other party leaders in police custody.

Meanwhile, anti-India protests were held in Pulwama and Kulgam against the killing of local youth Sheeraz Ahmad Sheikh and Mudasir Ahmad by Indian troops in Tangder area of Kupwara district, recently. The troops fired pellets and used teargas shells on the protesters in Pulwama and Kulgam districts.

On the other hand, many youth were arrested during raids by India’s National Investigation Agency along with Indian police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force in different areas of Shopian district, today.
