Arrest of Zafar Butt at Delhi Airport condemned

Srinagar June 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have strongly condemned the arrest of Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt, at New Delhi airport and described it as interference in religious affairs.

Zafar Akbar Butt along with his 80 years old mother was going to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage but the authorities at Delhi airport detained him despite he was with his elderly mother, who was on wheelchair.

The JKSM, Voice of Victims, Kashmir Affected Families, Pellet Victims Association, Youth Wing, Al-Jabar Trust, Al Ghani Welfare Trust, Human Rights Forum and Peoples Rights Movement in a joint statement in Srinagar on Monday denounced the Indian authorities for not allowing Zafar Akbar Butt and his mother to perform Umrah.
