Shujaat’s assassination handiwork of Indian secret agencies: Say Kashmir watchers » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, June 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, many Kashmir watchers in their social media posts and writings have raised several relevant issues regarding the assassination of the Kashmiri journalist, Shujaat Bukhari, and have pointed towards Indian secret agencies as being the mastermind of the incident.

The attack took place only few hours after the UN Human Rights Office in Geneva issued a comprehensive report on the human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and demanded an international investigation. Shujaat in one of his posts before his killing had disseminated this report. India had already condemned the UN report. The martyred journalist had been constantly raising the issue of human rights violations in occupied Kashmir in his writings and lectures at international conferences. He was a strong advocate of the initiation of a peaceful process to resolve the Kashmir dispute while impressing upon India to give up its intransigence and stop resorting to brute force against the Kashmiris. He was one of the main Kashmiri writers who continuously criticize India for its state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.

The Kashmir watchers have said that the assassinations of many Shujaat-like Kashmiri journalists and intellectuals in the past have been proved by investigations as the handiwork of Indian secret agencies.
